Sen. Dan Sullivan and Gov. Mike Dunleavy plan to join politicians, pastors, missionaries and others from across Alaska this weekend in bowing their heads to ask God to forgive, renew and inspire Alaskans to greater spiritual fidelity.

The Feb. 8-9 Revive Alaska Prayer Conference is a hub for Alaskans desiring to reverse of the spiritual statistics of Alaska from 70% non-religious to 70% Christian. An interdenominational event, it includes Christians from various backgrounds who gather to pray, listen to speakers, share evangelism strategies, and plan community outreach.

On Saturday, Feb. 8, the event begins with prayer, worship and a call to Christian unity. A brief speech by Gov. Dunleavy will be followed by prayers for the governor as he carries out his duties.

Next, Anchorage Mayor Ethan Berkowitz will speak, and prayers will be offered for mayors across Alaska. Other prayers will be lifted up for Alaska’s judges, educators and children.

Sunday’s schedule focuses on building Christian unity and repenting for church divisions and hypocrisy.

Sen. Dan Sullivan will speak, followed by prayers from local ministers for Alaska’s congressional delegation in Washington, D.C. The focus will then shift to local politics when Alaska’s Commissioner of Administration Kelly Tshibaka, Rep. Sharon Jackson of Eagle River and Rep. Lance Pruitt of Anchorage talk about Alaska’s governmental and legislative needs. After praying for state government, attendees will learn about various ministries and outreaches that work across Alaska, including the Alaska Watchman, Christian apologetics ministries and missionary efforts.

The Feb. 8-9 event will be at the University of Anchorage, Alaska, in Rasmuson Hall, room 101. Each night begins at 5 p.m.
