Gun rights

The heated and protracted debate over whether to increase regulations on outdoor shooting ranges in the Mat-Su Borough ended with Borough Mayor Vern Halter vetoing the Assembly’s vote to reconsider an ordinance that passed last month.

Mat-Su Borough Mayor Vern Halter

The majority of assembly members voted to reconsider the ordinance which many area gun rights advocates adamantly opposed. Contentious public testimonies have warned that the extensive permitting process, which includes filing fees, site plans, civil engineering certifications and environmental stewardship strategies, will likely result in future gun range applications being denied and thereby restricting residents’ ability to train with and use firearms. Opponents also expressed concern about the long-term viability of ranges that are deemed non-compliant with what they see as overly burdensome restrictions.

Others argue that regulations are needed in order to avoid the establishment of shooting ranges near existing residential homes, where they fear noise pollution and stray bullets.

More leftist bullshit. Just take your guns out into the country on a back dirt road and shoot them. That’s what we always did in the past. Fuck the city. They are all anti gun. Welcome to commie fornia

Most likely the cry babies are people who moved up from the lower 48 or anchorage and now trying to change the lifestyle that people moved here to attain. Don’t like it? Pack up and move back to where ever you came from.

Yeah we used to say the same thing back east as our farms disappeared and turned into strip malls and housing developments taking over our way of life.
“Move back wherever you came from.”
That’s is wishful thinking and won’t happen.
The good folks in Texas, Idaho, and Montana are all saying the same thing.

I was saying the same thing last week while the state turned all the stare maintained roads in the valley into troughs of salt and mud. Am I the only one who noticed? Has been getting worse for about five years now. Our roads have become huge nanny state routes so it only makes sense that the need to protect us from our guns would follow suit. What the heck is going on in the valley?

I guess you never drove to Anchorage during the bust years in the 80’s. DOT never really plowed the highway, they would just spread more pea gravel on top of the already compacted snow. The highway had trenches created by tires with a 6″ high hump between the trenches. To pass, you were rolling the dice to see if you were going into the ditch.

Y’all let your cuckservative representatives sell you out for years. Now the elections are all corrupted, they install more and more leftists and guess what, now they are coming for your guns. This is just a preview.

The window to take back your society is closing, and you cowards have yet to make them feel a single repercussion for their fraud, corruption, and theft of our election system.

SD BOUND. They have been coming for our guns since the end of the Korean war. And everytime they do both sides lose lives. Just in my lifetime,, and I’m from washington but grew up in SC and TX with the army. My point is I lived thru waco, ruby ridge and several other gun grab attempts during my teenage years and have noticed that no matter how hard the left tries they just end up killing themselves. Bill clinton illegally borrowed tanks and choppers from ft hood to take down MT CARMEL in Waco. The citizens FUCKED the feds up! Janet Reno lost her ass on that one alone. The point is,, we have never been afraid of them. Let them come. We are always ready to die and to take them with us. Its called the american spirit. It still exists. The “go along to get along” asswipes need to buck up and do their fucking part! I have already done mine. Sincerely (a US MARINE) RETIRED

I have not read the ordinance closely. I am assuming though that this does not prohibit our own private ranges? Where I live there are many, and also some safe locations in the moose range for shooting. I do not like that this not only stifles our 2nd amendment rights but also private business. It seems we have noise ordinances that would mitigate any shooting ‘after hours’ already in place. It is exasperating. We need to keep fighting and not give up though. This is only one mayor and we will have opportunity to vote again on the next.

The opposition is coming after us in any way they can. Ranges, ammunition, firearms, indoctrination, left wing district attorneys and judges, fraudulent elections and more. Wake Up Everyone!!!!!
