Kenai’s outspoken borough mayor has had enough of the government ordering citizens around on account of COVID.

Mayor Charlie Pierce’s New Year message encourages government leaders across Alaska to “get out of the way and let people live their lives.”

“I also want to wish everyone a Happy New Year,” the mayor wrote on his Facebook page. “2020 has been a tough year. My heart goes out to businesses and families all over the Kenai Peninsula and Alaska that are struggling.”

He added that the Kenai is “open for business.”

“It is not the government’s role to shut down your businesses/family, tell you when you can and can’t meet, tell you that you can only have 6-10 people at your house, or close down churches,” he said. “These policies will bankrupt an already struggling economy, and I will not have any part of that.”

Pierce added that he is a “firm believer that ALL our kids need to be back in school.” The Kenai School District has been under increased pressure from the community to reopen school to in-person learning. They currently have plans to begin this, but not until Jan. 19.

“Let’s put the kids first and show them with our actions that we believe in them by getting them back in school,” Pierce said.

In Plain sight “A False Prophet” ???
Matthew 7:15-20: “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”
2021 brings an awaking we pray!
I post this because if you look at the KPB’s current policies about attending Assembly Meeting(s) [in person] it is willfully unavailable to the “WE THE PEOPLE” and entrance to the borough office(s) [signs posted] is a statement of the typical “kool aid drinking” by local, state and national government about the Covid-19 virus Alas “WUHAN VIRUS” “China Virus” .
An Open Government means free access to public services and employees available to serve YOU [us their employer] … That’s NOT the case, Charlie!
We await your new budget to see how after a year of government shut down, what you expect us Peninsula residents will have to pay in “new tax increases” due to your spending down the borough’s reserve balance over 20 million dollars, lack of sales taxes all due to government shut down, where did it go?
What “evil fruit” do you have in store for us this new year of 2021?
THE COVID IS NO EXCUSE and never should have been! Will the Borough require it’s employees next to get a Vaccination?
Conservative Leadership isn’t just passing/supporting Resolution(s) for “Second Amendment Sanctuary Borough’s” … How many days did you NOT show up for work over the past year Mayor, due to the Covid-19 excuse? Did your re-election get in the way also? Your promise was to be at work every day! The only Pandemic is this!
Please don’t feel I am signaling you out Mr.Mayor, you’re among many others that are wearing sheep’s clothing, including your MASK when it’s politically correct!
I call them Liberty Light Elected Officials (LLEO’s) and a Light needs to be shined on them !

Reduce the teachers and administrators pay as long as student aren’t in class, watch how fast teacher demand schools reopen. If they’re not teaching, they’re not teachers!

A mayor that has the guts to tell it like it is.
No where I know in the constitution does the government have the right to do what they are doing.

Thank God for this man! Bless him, Lord. It is not the Government’s job to take away the rights of its citizens; close down their businesses, wear masks to keep yourself from one of the many diseases that are on this earth; how about all the others, no this is about control, shut down the little guy so the big guys can run everything. Too bad so many are actually believing this lie. God help us!
