Alaska Family Action is encouraging biblically-aligned faith leaders across Alaska to sign a Pastoral Statement of Opposition to the dangerous and far-reaching Equality Act likely to be voted on in the U.S. Senate any day.

Click here to review the list of 122 church leaders who are standing in the gap to encourage Senator Murkowski and Senator Sullivan to vote no on the radical Equality Act.

Here are a few reasons your church and pastor may not be on the list.

1) They are not aware of the statement being circulated. Please make sure to pass it along to them and encourage them to send an email to jim@akfamily.org with their name, title, church and community.

2) They are aware of it but believe it is not appropriate to mix “church and politics.” If that is the case, I would encourage you to read and then pass along this article from Dr. Wayne Grudem about why the church should influence Government for God.

3) They are aware of the Equality Act and are supportive of it. If this is the case, we recommend reading the two articles below from prominent Catholic and Protestant perspectives. We would also recommend that you prayerfully considering how aligned your church’s teaching are to Biblical truth.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has said the Equality Act “discriminates against people of faith, threatens unborn life, and undermines the common good.” Al Mohler, President of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, has written that “The passage of the Equality Act would mean the death of religious liberty. It would force all religious institutions and citizens to prove to the government’s satisfaction that their convictions merit constitutional protection.”

With the Equality Act already passed in the U.S. House and President Biden saying it is one of his top priorities, the impending vote in the U.S. Senate is extraordinarily important and could happen literally any day.

We will be distributing the letter to Senators Murkowski and Sullivan.  Our intent is to have a very broad, statewide list of names from across the Body of Christ who take God’s Word seriously, who believe in religious liberty as our Founders envisioned it and know that Scripture is absolutely clear on sexuality, the differences between male and female and who adhere to the Biblical definition of marriage and human flourishing.

Please join us in standing up and taking action now.

There is definitely a consistent religious nutter perspective on this site.

    • MICHAEL HUGHES says:

Why do we have to result to insulting people with whom we disagree? (And I include myself in this admonition.) It only leads to more division and strife; which none of us need right now. If you disagree with someone, insulting them is not going to help them come around to your side; much less even listen to you.

Michael, read Saul Alinsky’ Rules for Radicals. It’ll become clear why the Marxists choose to personally attack someone vs simply disagreeing. They are anarchists and will destroy everything and everyone in an attempt to advance their agenda. I truly believe they self-loath and that hatred spills over into all their human interactions. Just pray for them.
