A two-day convention will take place in Anchorage later this month, July 27-28, with the aim of empowering and equipping Alaska parents to make the best possible educational choices for their children.

The Alaska School Choice Convention includes dynamic speakers, educational ideas, curriculum options and opportunities to network with seasoned homeschooling parents.

The event will highlight the many educational choices available to Alaskan families, including homeschooling, private and religious education and public schooling options.

Presentations entail a keynote address from U.S. Senate candidate Kelly Tshibaka. She is a homeschooling mom of five children.

Another talk features Virginia-based homeschool mom Julia Nalle who employs a classics-based, faith filled approach to homeschooling her children. Drawing on four decades of homeschooling, she has authored a history and literature curriculum.

“We have an amazing line up of community leaders to guide us in exploring the big picture of why educating and empowering you to make great educational choices for your children is so important,” a notice for the event states. “Breakout sessions will equip you with specific strategies to help you and your kids succeed at home in various disciplines as you homeschool or support your child’s education at home. You will leave equipped, encouraged, and inspired with practical and effective strategies to make your 2021-2022 school year a great success!”

The event takes place July 27-28, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Anchorage Baptist Temple. The cost is $15 per family.

    YES, yes and yes!

If we learn anything from the obvious attacks on humanity in our time, please know our children’s moral upbringing must be a priority. We cannot continue to neglect and ignore the moral denigration of our impressionable children’s minds and expect to survive as a sovereign nation.

The “Great Decommission” continues. When will someone stand up and realize that it has been the decisions like these that have truly been the most impactful way that God has been removed from the schoolhouse.
