Amid a surge in homeschooling, religious schools and myriad public and private alternatives to traditional brick-and-mortar government schools, Alaska families are engaged in a fundamental shift in education. To help equip parents and empower this growing cultural revolution, Americans For Prosperity-Alaska will host a July 8 “Family Fun Fair” at The Lakefront in Anchorage (4800 Spenard Rd.), from 5-8 p.m.
Corey DeAngelis, one of the nation’s most prominent school choice advocates, will be on hand. He unapologetically believes that parents and political leaders must lean into the educational culture war. A senior fellow at the American Federation for Children and a visiting fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, DeAngelis has been labeled the “school choice evangelist.” He is a regular on Fox News and frequently appears in The Wall Street Journal.
The event will include popcorn, ice cream sundaes and a free copy of DeAngelis’ book, “The Parent Revolution,” for the first 100 attendees. Drop in anytime, between 5-8 p.m. to enjoy food and activities, including face-painting for kids.
“The tide is turning in education, and we need a parent revolution now more than ever,” a notice for the event states. “Corey DeAngelis is the leading voice in the movement for school choice. Known for his fearless advocacy, Corey challenges the status quo of government-run education systems. His groundbreaking book, ‘The Parent Revolution,’ offers a compelling narrative on why parents deserve more say in their children’s education.”

Described as “public enemy #1 of the teachers’ unions,” DeAngelis has become a beacon of hope for families across America. He rallies support and ignites conversations about the need for educational reform. His message is clear: it’s time to empower parents and students to break free from outdated and poorly performing educational paradigms.
The upcoming event is also a chance to connect with like-minded families who care about educational options like homeschooling, micro-schools, and learning pods. Parents, educators and community leaders are all invited to help propel the conversation forward in order to ensure every child has access to a quality education tailored to their needs.

Can we just have a civil discussion about education and back away from the hateful language of “war”, “Enemy”, “revolution”? Seems kind of counter productive in an inclusive Constitutional democracy where we all should be considered. A major thing we, as “One Nation”, should be so proud of is the early development in our country of publicly funded education available to all in this country. Lets strive to improve, but be conservative (small c) in changing, not radical.
Agreed, get your children out of these schools now. Before the drag queens get ahold of your kids.
what a amaing website ………… join.payathome9.com
Again please stop with the war rhetoric.
My kids got a great education in AK public schools. Believe me, the teachers were interested in teaching them, not indoctrinating them.
