Early voting began on Sept. 16 for a slew of local races for Fairbanks Borough and city council seats.
Residents will choose a mayor, three borough assembly members, two school board members, and two city councilmen. They will also vote on whether to preserve the current tax cap, which limits the maximum level of taxation the borough can levy or impose.
CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATES
A number of more conservative-leaning are running for office against leftist counterparts. Conservative picks include the following:
— Borough Mayor Candidate: John Coghill
— Borough Assembly Candidates: Miguel Ramirez, Tammy Wilson, and Jimi Cash
— School Board Candidates: Loa Hubbard-Carroll and April Smith
— Fairbanks City Council Candidate – Aaron Crook
TAX CAP QUESTION
If Proposition 1 passes, the borough will not be able to impose new taxes, except to adjust for inflation, pay for voter-approved bonds or services, or pay for emergencies or legal judgements. If Proposition 1 fails, the borough will have an opportunity to impose higher taxes on residents.
VOTING INFORMATION
— Early voting from Sept. 16-26 takes place Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Shoppers Forum Mall (1255 Airport Way, Fairbanks).
— Absentee in-person voting is from Sept. 16-30 at the Fairbanks Clerk’s Office (800 Cushman Street) and the North Poe Clerk’s Office (125 Snowman Lane). Voting is available starting at 8 a.m.
— Absentee mail-in balloting begins on Sept. 24. This is also the deadline for applying to vote by mail-in absentee ballot.
— Absentee electronic ballots must be requested no later than Sept. 30 at noon. All absentee voting ends on Sept. 30, at 5 p.m.
— Regular voting at polling locations will be on election day, Oct. 1, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Click here to see all polling locations on election day.

Prayers for success for all of our conservative candidates! We need to keep up the good fight and win this battle against evil.
It all depends. Many conservatives felt women should not vote,work outside of the home nor deserve equal pay for equal work. Thank God for thinking liberals and social and economic justice as well as THE FOUNDATION FROM FREEDOM FROM RELIGION and the American Civil Liberties Union or it would be likd it was in 1895.

Remarkably, there is STILL is significant number of men who think it was a mistake to give women the right to vote. Considering the advantage the Harris/Walz ticket has among female voters, I wonder how many men will be threatening their wives or girlfriends if they vote that way.
In Fairbanks we also need to vote YES to on keeping the Tax Cap in place. The renegades on the borough assembly tried to ignore the Tax Cap and vote to override it wasting $125,000 of our money for a special election. Fortunately, the assembly members lost big time. That effort was led by Savannah Fletcher who is running for a senate seat in Juneau against Mike Cronk. Pray that the Christians, a silent majority, which do their homework and elect the conservatives.
