A group of pro-life advocates in Fairbanks are planning to gather at the downtown Cushman Street Bridge to rally in support of unborn babies and the end to abortion in Alaska.

The annual “Stand for Life” gathering is intended to raise public awareness about the dignity of unborn babies.

“Please come and join us on the Cushman Street Bridge to stand for our unborn children and their families on Jan 24th from 4:30-6:30 p.m., or any amount of time during those hours that’s comfortable for you,” organizer Pamela Samash wrote in a notice to pro-life supporters. “The gorgeous Immaculate Conception Church will be open for us to use the Murphy Hall to warm up and drink some hot cocoa.”

Signs will be provided, or participants can bring their own homemade signage.

In addition to the upcoming rally, pro-life advocates in Fairbanks gather each Wednesday, from 1-2 p.m., in front of the Fairbanks Planned Parenthood abortion clinic to provide sidewalk ministry outreach to pregnant women in need.

The sidewalk outreach provides signs and instructions on how to speak with a mother who is seeking to abort her baby.
