Madaliene Tietz

A substantial number of Bethel parents have pulled their children out of a transgender teacher’s 6th grade classroom, citing concerns that students feel uncomfortable and scared.

The teacher in question is a middle-aged biological male who now goes by the name of “Madeliene Tietz.” Hired to teach at Gladys Jung Elementary School, the man is an LGBTQ activist who wears dresses in front of impressionable young students and attempts to present himself as a woman during class. His social media pages contain a photo of him posing with scantily clad drag queens and others of him holding rainbow signs stating, “Born this way.”

As of Aug. 22, nearly a third of Tietz’s students are no longer attending the school as parents attempt to convince Principal Atan Winkleman to approve student transfers to another teacher.

According to one local resident who requested to remain anonymous, the principal has so-far refused to budge and has failed to give parents a timeline for when their child might be approved for transfer to another teacher.

“The principal is refusing to give us any information,” the concerned citizen explained.

Currently about 7-8 students (out of a total of 18) are not attending Tietz’s class as parents await the school’s response to their requests. According to the person who spoke with the Watchman, a handful of families have started the process of homeschooling their children this year.

If my child feels uncomfortable and scared to be in that classroom, then LKSD’s own education processes aren’t being followed. – Local Bethel parent

On Aug. 20, the Lower Kuskokwim School Board directed District Superintendent Andrew Anderson to tell Principal Winkelman to approve classroom change requests “when it is apparent that a student’s ability to learn has been hindered significantly.”

The board also directed the district administration to develop a proposed policy regarding parent requests to have their children assigned to different teachers.

“We’ve raised our kids a certain way – to have morals,” the Bethel resident told the Watchman, adding that the transgender movement goes against the beliefs of many residents.

Tietz has a history of negative interactions with parents. In previous jobs in Wisconsin, and Kwigillingok, which is located about 90 air miles from Bethel, he has faced multiple complaints.

Last year, he was transferred to Bethel High School, after working in Kwigillingok.

For the Aug. 20 board meeting, one concerned couple sent a letter to the board members, explaining why they wanted their child transferred, and noting that the district is violating its own policies regarding parental rights.

“Parents have the right to be informed of our child’s teacher, we have the right to know their qualifications and to request to see their degree and profile before the school year starts,” Bethel resident Tom Martin wrote to the board. “This policy is supposed to be distributed to parents by August 10th each year. It is during this period when parents can request their child to be moved to another classroom. The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) ensures parents have access to the information, a process LKSD did not follow.”

Martin emphasized that schools exist to serve local families.

“Schools and School Districts exist because of the children,” he said. “The parents of the children also have the right regarding their child’s classroom placement. LKSD is denying us parents that right. If my child feels uncomfortable and scared to be in that classroom, then LKSD’s own education processes aren’t being followed. The children’s voices need to be heard, and if we are being pushed aside and neglected then our rights are being violated. I have requested my child be placed in another class because LKSD did not follow its own policy. I will stand firm.”

Thank you for the update on this school/teacher hire as well as the Superintendent contact info. Parents concerned about XY DNA Tietz’s masquerading as a woman are not transphobic. They are common sense, mentally stable protectors of their children who refuse to be forced to live in and accept the mental illness delusional world Mr. Tietz lives in. This groomer teacher should not be around children, period.

Public unbiased reporting and information is and should be available. this site is not unbiased. It is heavily schewed and reports disinformation all the time. I’m afraid of the cult that yall are a part of. The problem is people thinking the president is a god and worshiping him as though he isn’t doing damage that yall will feel. it’s like getting punched and saying thank you to the person who hit your

Trying to expose the indigenous to this crap…. Dispicable

  • Upset says:

My kid came home when she was younger saying she felt uncomfortable and scared because a lot of the native kids were so rough and her teacher was Filipino. I requested my kid be in a class with more white kids and a white teacher. No action was taken and I was very upset. I agree with all of this I should have a choice for my kids teacher to be white like them so my kid isn’t scared. Let alone a man in a dress.

    • Nona says:

      Because that is racism.

    • Jackie says:

There’s an all white community starting up in Alabama. Google it. Sounds perfect for you as a white nationalist.

      • Confused says:

Seems like a double standard to say it’s bad to be racist but it’s okay to propagate trans hate?

      • Jackie says:

Dear Confused. Did I say something about propagating trans hate? No. Just directly commenting on this particular persons posts being upset about her kid being in a class without other white kids. I am pro LGBTQ+ (yup the T is is there). But you are one of those people who must be really fun to hang around with when what is transpiring in your brain isn’t addressed in every single sentence. Annoying.

    • Manny Mullens says:

For hell’s sake, Upset. TEACH your children! Perfect moment to introduce a peaceful world to your child.

Uh oh. My wife says your post is sarcasm. Could be.

yo the blatant racism is crazy

    • Lance says:

This site doesn’t need fake incendiary comments. Stop trying to just cause division.

    • Richard K CORBeil says:

Cute, pretending moral equivalence in this issue. As if race and sexual depravity or serious mental illness are somehow equal.

  • Transisgood says:

Firstly, the kid feels unsafe because the parent is putting that on the kid.
Secondly, I don’t see you reporting on cis straight men who are impregnating young girls in villages. You know, actual groomers and pedos being real problems.
Thirdly, would you ever ask a person what their bio sex is? No. Because that is weird and inappropriate. You can assume all you like but you don’t ask.
Fourthly, my morals say no religion in education period. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to say a teacher can’t wear a cross or other religious symbol to work. (Also religious leaders are more likely to harm your child than a trans person).

At the end of the day, this well educated woman who has been in the district two years and has done well in that time is going to actually help your kid learn. Not teach them about being trans. Also, they have to pass background checks so she is safe for your children. Educate yourself instead of being hateful and discriminatory. Look up information before you just assume it.

    • Tamra Nygaard says:

Why do you suppose our motivation is hate? I believe you are putting that on us. We don’t hate cross-dressers, we pity them. Not the same thing, at all, but if it fits your agenda, I guess you will say anything.
Please state your statistics concerning who is harming children. The entire purpose of cross-dressing around children is to enlist children in your perversion, because otherwise their natural inclination is to find it disturbing. No parent is “putting that on the kid.” Social norms exist in an orderly society, and just because you want to be edgy and act out doesn’t change that fact. No little girls want some big man in their bathroom. No parent wants their kids to be your experiment in delusion.
Here’s a hint: We don’t have to engage with your particular daddy issues. It isn’t the world that is wrong, it is you. Go ahead and get your freak on, nobody is saying you cannot, but don’t expect the rest of us to stand up and applaud your delusions. Get over yourself already.

      • Manny Mullen says:

You just eloquently made the case for your hatred.

      • Trans_people_arent_pedos_but_your_president_is says:

maybe the whole purpose of a trans woman openly being trans, isnt to be a predator like yall claim it to be, but because the person wants to be happy as themselves. but happiness is a lost concept to yall conservatards.

      • Tamra Nygaard says:

Manny, you really are some kind of troll. I don’t hate anyone. That’s your realm. You state that every time you come here to spout your nonsense.

      • Translivesmatter says:

        https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8344346/
        https://williamsinstitute.law.ucla.edu/press/ncvs-trans-press-release/
Included some stats on trans youth who experience the most violence and abuse compared to other youth. If you think that a parent is not the one responsible for teaching their children to be discriminatory, than who do you think is responsible? Also the point is that being trans is not the important part. She is a teacher. That is her occupation. That will not prevent her from teaching youth. The only people fetishizing her is you all. You don’t say that a cisgender woman is dangerous to teach your children. Also, teachers are not using the bathroom with students. PERIOD. That is school policy. Saying otherwise is misinformation/disinformation. Social norms also said it was okay to drown women in the 1600s. Social norms said it was okay for men to beat their wives in the 50’s. Social norms do not rule society. They only exist to pressure people to exist a certain way. This isn’t an experiment. This is someone’s life. This article is defamation at it’s finest and you clearly need to open your worldview. I don’t want you in this world but you don’t see me saying that you are a pervert creep. You are ignorant but you are welcome to be here just like she is.

    • Lance says:

Please stop lying publicly. That is a man. Supporting his delusions helps no one.

  • Proud Alaskan says:

I’m so glad these parents, are standing up to this sickness.

  • Wake up people says:

As long as we have liberals making the rules and helping to facilitate and nurture these dilutional people, it will not change. People can pretend to be who they want to be, that’s their right but I also have rights to believe it’s wrong. Don’t demand I respect your rights then step on mine.

    • AK Fish says:

“People can pretend to be who they want to be, that’s their right but I also have rights to believe it’s wrong. Don’t demand I respect your rights then step on mine.” Parents, remove your kids from school and home school them so you can teach them your values and beliefs.

Best post in a long time! When the parents assert the rights of their kids, the school system, school boards, educators, superintendants cry FOUL, RACISM, your just being ****PHOBIC, etc. The 10% minority want the 90% majority to bend to their will, support their beliefs all in the name of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Good luck with that.

    • JENN says:

It’s not about making rules. as you said it is her right. you cannot infringe on that. You cannot legally do anything. Think what you want but your actions are the problem. Leave this woman be. Let her pursue life, liberty, and happiness and mind your business.

      • Tamra Nygaard says:

Honestly, Jenn, nobody is telling this man he cannot dress like a woman, i.e. wearing womanface, no matter how offensive it is to real women. We would let him be, if he let us be. But of course, he needs everyone to conform to his delusion, which is not the same thing, at all. He can get a job elsewhere, doing something besides parading his perversion in front of children. If you can’t see the harm he is causing, then you are likewise delusional.

      • Kirkland says:

So children are being forced to pretend that their teacher is a woman when they know he’s a man. It infringes on those children’s rights (and parents) to be forced into this! No one should have to endure this absurdity!

      • JenL says:

Tietz is not a she. He is a man with XY DNA and likely has the anatomical parts that go with it if he has not been surgically mutilated. Truth matters.

  • Paul Hart says:

Transgender Americans are just an entitled to employment as you are. If a trans woman like Madeliene Tietz is qualified to teach math and spelling to elementary school kids, she should be able to do so. The kids don’t seem to care.

    • Tamra Nygaard says:

The kids do care. That’s the point. They don’t want to be in a classroom with a full grown man who makes them call him a her. It is not just confusing, it is abuse. One of the qualifications of being a teacher is being able to have the students trust that the teacher is telling them the truth. He is not. The truth is the truth, no matter your particular opinion. Sorry, nobody is buying what you are selling.

      • DancePanda says:

Unless you were told, you wouldn’t just misgender her. It’s the honesty about the situation that caused problems. If they didn’t say anything, no one would have known.

      • Jerry says:

Well said. Teachers should represent and teach truth.

  • Sally Pollen says:

Parents and residents within LKSD, stand united, don’t back down from protecting your children. This is your golden opportunity to make a big difference for your area. Demand that your school board, your superintendent, principals and teachers listen to parents who stand for morality in the class room.

  • Justamom says:

I dunno. Sounds like someone who gets off on the sexual aspect of cross dressing.
Not bigoted. Just facts. I’ve been around the gay community all my life. It’s a thing.

Bethal parents. Be sure to keep your kids home during the 3 week period where the district has to submit an attendance/enrolled number to state.
Losing that many kids will financially hit the district hard!

I have several friends that home school their children. So far the kids are getting a much better education than what Anchorage schools provide. Please for the sake of your children’s education check out the options available to you for home schooling.

It is not wrong or hateful to want your child to not be in the class of a teacher who is mentally unhinged and confused about actual sexual identity.
