If all goes according to plan the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Alaska will soon launch a concerted campaign to advance the most radical political elements of the LGBTQIA2S+ agenda in the deeply conservative Mat-Su Valley.
This cultural offensive entails hiring a full-time activist organizer who will be 100% dedicated to so-called “queer and trans justice issues.”
According to a job description for the $55,000-a-year gig, with full benefits, the community organizer will “coordinate community action in response to attacks on LGBTQIA2S+ Rights” by monitoring and attending public meetings, organizing events, recruiting new activists, building networks, identifying and training local spokespeople to effectively share personal stories, strategizing concrete goals and objectives, facilitating events that “elevate queer joy” and tracking data points.

In order to work for the ACLU, the activist must be fully on board with the organization’s Covid protocols, which includes proof of a mandatory vaccination or a medical or religious exemption.
The ACLU is already actively weighing in on Mat-Su politics by filing a lawsuit against the Mat-Su School Board’s decision to review and possibly remove graphic sexualizing books from area schools. It has also been an outspoken opponent of the Mat-Su School District’s policy banning gender-confused male athletes from competing as females in girls’ high school sports.

Let them try. The louder they get, the more it wakes people up. I’m glad they are making a spectacle in the courts system with the school board. The ACLU is showing the property owners in the valley that it doesn’t care about wasting tax dollars on frivolous and baseless lawsuits. Continuing down this path of blatantly ramming this ideology that parents and citizens do not want here will only cause the resistance response to be stronger and louder. Bring it on.

I agree with you! I pray for God to give us the endurance and not give up. If people give up and stop participating in this fight, there is less positive energy to keep going. If people are constantly attacking and name-calling the people on their own side, it does not help when people are already dealing with all of the chaos around us and trying to maintain some semblance of normality in their lives.
Nonsense. At least two of the three current lawsuits were easily avoidable. If anyone is demonstrating reckless irresponsibility its the school board with its devotion to a hateful and divisive Outside agenda. Expect a fourth lawsuit, too, with the board’s complete unwillingness to address Open Meetings Act violations.

We were told tolerance for this deviant minority group was so they could live quiet lives of peaceful dignity. So that they could be visited in hospital by a loved one. So they could have life insurance. And so on.

Commitment to upholding parent’s rights to protect their children is not something that can be purchased with a career title, a salary, or another political position.
