Alaska’s U.S. Rep. Mary Peltola joined her Democratic colleagues in Congress in a failed attempt to block a GOP-led bill that aims to include a citizenship question in the 2030 U.S. Census to ensure that noncitizens are not used in the official population numbers that determine each state’s congressional seats and electoral votes.

The question would not exclude any census respondent, but would simply clarify whether they are a U.S. citizen or not. The bill has little chance of passing the Senate or being signed by President Joe Biden.

The bill ultimately passed the House on a 206-202 party-line vote, but Peltola’s “no” vote drew the attention of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).

“Democrats just said the quiet part out loud,” a May 10 statement from the NRCC stated. “Today, Mary Peltola just voted to allow the census to continue counting noncitizens. By including noncitizens in congressional district apportionment, they are letting sanctuary cities and states get outsized representation in Congress.”

NRCC Spokesman Ben Petersen added that Peltola’s vote shows she “will put noncitizens ahead of American citizens to obtain more political power. As border chaos spirals out of control — endangering the lives and livelihoods of American citizens — it is beyond the pale that her priorities don’t include her constituents’ needs.”

Former President Donald Trump attempted to include a citizenship question in the latest 2020 census, but it was blocked by the U.S. Supreme Court. Republicans, however, maintain that the census should not benefit states that create so-called “sanctuary cities” in violation of federal immigration laws.

House Speaker Mike Johnson issued a statement after the bill passed the House, saying: “Common sense dictates that only American citizens should be counted for electoral apportionment.”

While the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states that the population count of the U.S. must include “whole numbers of persons in each state,” the Constitution does not state that noncitizens should be counted for congressional seats or electoral votes, nor does it define what is meant by persons of the United States.

I can’t figure out who she thinks she represents. It’s beginning to look like she has a constituency of 1.

  • Proud Alaskan says:

2030 U.S. Census, it speaks for itself. U.S. not these ILLEGALS, noncitizens.
What a joke of a country we are living in. When the sh%@ hits the fan. These scared crybabies, will come running, can you help me. You can answer your own question.

Peltola obviously went into the “swamp” without any idea of working for Alaska. The “swamp” absorbed her immediately. She got in because of rank-choice voting. The native vote wanted another better native and tried to take to court the problem Al Gross illegally dropping out. (The judge said it was illegal but did nothing about it.) Perhaps if conservatives and Conservative Christians work collectively, we can vote Peltola out of office, and get Nick Begich elected. This will require Christians to engage in studying and understanding our problem and voting Nick into her seat. Nancy Dahlstrom needs to drop out so we don’t split the vote.. Nick is our conservative choice. The Christians and Christian leaders need to engage in the voting process. This is a large voting block on our side and we need to win the Alaska seat in the House.

Christian voters! Good luck with that! I am a rare individual as a Christian who cares enough about my country and state to vote. The church has been deboned because the harvest has already happened! It is now in the process of being consumed! It stands for nothing! It’s influence has been eradicated. Courage, boldness, self sacrifice, engagement, all this and more you’ll have to read a historical narrative to see! We have surrendered and become weak! Quit eating your fattening hostess cakes and lean into the fight!

I’m glad November is rolling up fast. I can say BYE Mary. you can look to be unemployed by mid November. Non Citizens have no right votingin our country. Counted yes but not voting. See you done the road!

Unless Kevin Meyer and dominion and the Zuckerberg money is exposed …

That was the whole plan for opening the gate wide for invasion. The left only win elections by extraneous and unethical means. Vote harvesting, Rigged Choice Voting, bringing in droves of non citizens and nefarious invaders and then counting them with citizens. Are we surprised? There is no foundation of right and wrong, relativity rules. He end justifies the means. Peltola is only a sheep wanting to be included in the leftist fold. She has no independent thought, or care for our state. It is a travesty she is who we have representing us in congress.

Peltola is going to lose her seat this coming November if we get to have an honest election! Help Alaskans to have an honest election! (

  • Morrigan says:

Problem is not the constitutional census and reapportionment process.
Problem is the appearance of a criminal conspiracy, conducted under color of law, in which Peltola may play a part, to corrupt census and reapportionment, disenfranchise American voters, and substantially interfere with American elections for the purpose of establishing and maintaining single-party dominance in federal, state, and local governments.
The corruption is accomplished by unlawfully opening American borders to illegal aliens, deploying them to targeted states, and automatically registering them to vote through more than a dozen federal programs.
The corruption succeeds if enough registrations can be filed on their behalf, and enough votes can be cast on their behalf to guarantee census data, reapportionment, election results, and Electoral College delegate assignments are permanently corrupted to favor the single, dominant political party.
“on March 7,… the President signed an Executive Order to leverage the resources of the federal government to increase access to voter registration services and information about voting…
Today, more than a dozen agencies across the federal government are announcing steps they are taking to respond to the President’s call for an all-of-government action to promote voting access…”
The “color of law” piece is a big deal. Together with “honest services fraud” and RICO statutes, these may help a Trump Justice Department solve the problem.

    She is shameful.

Peltola and Murkowski are twin sister of different mothers, neither can be trusted.

  • Julie says:

What more damage can this woman possibly do to my home State? She needs to be replaced by someone with a real heart for this State as she clearly has demonstrated she is NOT that person!
