In a one-paragraph statement, the Alaska Supreme Court rejected a lawsuit aimed at keeping voters from being able to decide the fate of ranked-choice voting in November.

One day after hearing an expedited appeal on Aug. 22, the high court upheld a Superior Court decision to allow Ballot Measure 2 to be on the Nov. 5 ballot.

“Having considered the record, the parties’ briefs, and the parties’ arguments, we AFFIRM the superior court’s summary judgment order,” the Supreme Court ruled. “An opinion explaining this decision will be issued at a later date.”

Ballot Measure 2 seeks to repeal ranked choice voting and open primaries in order to return to the traditional voting system, which was in place prior to a narrowly approved change in 2020.

The court’s swift decision allows the State Division of Election to print ballots that will include the question on whether to repeal ranked-choice voting.

Thank you Supreme Court for making the correct decision.

The Alaska voters should decide all voting issues not Lisa and Mary and their outside money

Precisely! It should be the People. Sad that most look to the courts to resolve these issues when it should be put before the People again to resolve.

Supreme Court friend of Scott Kendall. They’ll screw the people soon enough!

Is it just me, or do I see a change of tone with the Supremes? A gaggle of recent rulings have actually spun in favor of the people of Alaska, instead of the typical “damn the little people and full steam ahead” to roll over the masses with their rulings. I hope DaveMaxwell is wrong.

Let’s vote yes to repeal ranked-choice voting. There’s absolutely no rationale for this trickle down type of voting in Alaska.

Vote no, ranked choice voting works.

In November, vote YES on Ballot Measure 2 Repeal Ranked Choice Voting. Repeal Ranked Choice Voting because even the dems won’t play the game by having multiple candidates in the race – they know it does not work.

The only ones that I know supporting rank choice are low IQ ultra-liberals. I’m guessing that you won’t admit it?
