As of Nov. 18, Ballot Measure 2 is now failing.

According to the latest vote tally by Alaska’s Division of Elections, the ballot measure aimed at repealing ranked-choice voting is now trailing by 192 votes.

Posted Nov. 18, the latest election update showed Ballot Measure 2 failing by a count of 157,124 to 156,932.

On election day, Nov. 5, Ballot Measure 2, which aims to repeal ranked-choice voting and return Alaska to its traditional party primaries and election system, was winninig by a margin of 50.9% to 49%. Since then, the “no” votes have steadily gained ground as election officials have slowly tabulated votes that arrive via the mail.

Absentee and mail-in ballots that were postmarked as of Nov. 5 have until Nov. 20 to arrive for tabulation. It’s unclear exactly how many more votes may turn up by that deadline.

The lastest update included nearly 4,000 votes. There are roughly 5,000 left to tally, according to previous statements by election officials.

    • Bob says:

      Disgusted.

    • Concerned Citizen says:

mail in voting in Alaska is a policy, never legalized by the legislation action. part of 2016 vote? check it out. its supposed to be election day not season. shows who’s in power here in Alaska. everything about counting votes by mail after election day is clearly fraudulent

  • Davesmaxwell says:

looks like the infamous 113000 stolen identies have just mysteriously showed up in favor of keeping rcv! I BELIEVE THAT PEACEABLE TIMES IN ALASKA ARE COMING TO AN END

  • Elizabeth Henry says:

This is corruption. Who the heck wanted to keep RCV? There should be a serious forensic investigation. This was drug out until they could produce ballots for people who likely never went to the polls.

  • David Shoemaker says:

    This is just outrageous…
Alaskans want RCV gone. Get rid of it. The lies pumped by the proponents are blatant. They know that voters in general do not pay close enough attention and the have played on that. Just disgusting what things have become.

  • John says:

It seems like that no votes should even start to be counted until after all votes that are eligible to be counted have been received by the Division of Elections where all legal votes are to be counted.

  • Bob says:

Well, there is literally no reason to vote in Alaska anymore. The leftists have won. This state is doomed becuase the residents are more concerned with smoking weed and getting their free money than safeguarding their rights.

    Repeal the 19th.

  • Patricia says:

We need an audit. Not just a recount. Rep. Sarah Vance requested as such to the DOE today. This is outrageous.

  • Patricia says:

We need an audit. Not just a recount. Rep. Sarah Vance requested as such to the DOE today.

  • Sherry says:

Something seems fishy. Exactly what happened when they instituted RCV in 2000.

  • Mary says:

    Audit mandatory.

  • MeMe says:

Get your terms correct: we need a FORENSIC audit.

  • Frozen says:

Unbelievable. No, literally, unbelievable. This looks like fraud to me. Murkowski, how did you do this?

  • Diana says:

We need a forensic audit asap.

  • Davesmaxwell says:

we need to coax dunleavy out from underneath the skirts of damboski, downing, allard,or murkowski! HES HIDING UNDER THERE BECAUSE HE KNOWS THE BUCKBUT STOPS WITH HIM!

  • Bray says:

The numbers just don’t add up..We need a forensic audit and recount when it’s all over

  • Steve says:

The longer it take the more opportunity there is for her to cheat … are you listening Lisa?

  • Reed OHair says:

A forensic or any other type of audit is not possible if DOE has in fact separated the mailed in ballot from its associated enevelope and has not saved an image of the two together. No voting system is more suseptible to fraud than MAIL IN VOTING. The necessary two party control is lost at the mailbox.

  • Living in the Mat Su says:

Alaska voters should demand a Federal Investigation on our state’s elections.

  • OK in Anchorage says:

Who’s ready to pick up the baton and start collecting signatures for the same ballot measure as soon as possible?

  • Davesmaxwell says:

MR TRUMP IF YOUR LISTENING AND PAYING ATTENTION TO ALASKA AND OUR INSURMOUNTABLE CORRUPTION! PLEASE PLACE MIKE DUNLEAVY AND NANCY DALHSTROM IN JAIL IN KEEPING WITH YOUR PROMISE TO INCARCERATE ANYONE FOUND GUILTY OF ELECTION FRAUD!

  • Debi Kirchner says:

This is beyond criminal. They’ve played this out so long thinking we wouldn’t be paying attention. Something has to be done about this steal. And if they steal the win from Begich , I think we will see fireworks in our state.

  • Mary says:

Donald Trump: Alaska is not a swing state but, though we be far distant from DC, we are part of the United States. You, Donald Trump owe us as much consideration as Pennsylvania. Please launch an investigation of election fraud here inaska

  • Concerned citizen says:

Alaska’s mail-in ballot system was established through a voter-approved ballot measure in 2016, allowing automatic voter registration when individuals apply for a Permanent Fund Dividend, unless they opt-out ¹. This measure also made Alaska a “no-excuse” voting state, permitting anyone to apply for absentee/by-mail voting without needing to provide a reason.

The Alaska Constitution requires legislative approval for changes to election administration, but the voter-approved ballot measure enabled the implementation of mail-in ballots without legislative action.

*Key Aspects of Alaska’s Mail-in Ballot System*

    – *Eligibility*: Any registered voter can apply for absentee/by-mail voting
    – *Application Deadline*: 10 days before an election for already registered voters, 30 days before for new registrations or updates
    – *Return Methods*: Mail or in-person at designated locations
    – *Signature Requirements*: Voter’s handwritten signature and witness signature (or notary public)

  • Concerned Citizens says:

So mail in ballots is a policy and not actually ever approved by state legislation?

  • Steve Peterson says:

The fact that it takes so long to finalize elections is the greatest argument against RCV.

  • JET says:

I wonder how that happened. Why does it feel like Alaska is as corrupt and cheating as Georgia and Arizona was last election! Oh because it is!! If rigged choice voting wins, we as Alaskans need to find out how. Boxes of unmarked ballots from under the table? Muckowski paying off her bed mates. Rigged choice voting is the baby of that cheater-turncoat Rino. Away with it and her.

  • JET says:

More election fraud!!! Let’s not be naive Alaska.
