Anchorage police and firefighters had to block two lanes of traffic along the Seward Highway on Aug. 13 when yet another homeless encampment was set on fire, after police instructed illegal campers to vacate the area.

According to the Anchorage Fire Department, firefighters suppressed a tent fire in the trees after multiple callers stated they saw heavy smoke and flames not far from the roadway.

Earlier in the day, prior to the fire, police began abating homeless camps in the area. Notices were posted on trees next to trails leading deeper into the woods. Police found no one on scene and no injuries were reported.

The fire is the latest incident in an ongoing effort to address growing vandalism, arson and criminal activity associated with Anchorage’s chronic homeless population.

Not even on the radar of mainstream media.

Surround the next investment and toss ’em all in the pokey at the first hint of smoke. Rehab and mental health improvement time.

    Bingo… off the street.

Wake up democrats, hellooooooo, are you there? Are you’re eyes opened? Years ago the blight of Portland and Seattle were being tossed about, well, here we are.

When the Anchorage hillside goes up in flames. People will finally wake up to this bull cr@p going on,
In this once beautiful city Anchorage. Remember Anchorage you voted for this administration/mayor it’s on you.

Neither you nor anyone else outside The Club has a clue who or how many voted for this administration/excuse for a mayor..
      .
That’s the beauty of an easily corruptible mail-in voting system.

Yes I agree we don’t know how much cheating went on. But look at the Assembly members and the mayor office. If there is a strong republican base I don’t see it. And Rank Choice Vote is cheating too.

Some years back there was a muni or state court decision that the homeless had to be served 10-21 days of eviction notice so they had time to move their “possessions”, and authorities couldn’t just collect it up and take it to the dump. Now with such notice served, the new trend is to simply set it ablaze to complicate and make the eviction more expensive and unpleasant, irregardless of the potential danger to the surrounding city. Their absolute hatred for others couldn’t possibly be more obvious. Alaska citizens need to DEMAND that the state build more correctional facilities of all types, including mental health holding, involuntary “inpatient” alcohol and drug abuse treatment facilities, behavioral deviance holding facilities, and work camps. This insistence on punishing society by repeatedly releasing sociopaths on us must stop.

Morrigan is right. Is Anchorage really a leftist city? Personally, I think not. It is done by the smoke-and-mirrors of rigged elections. The smug confidence of the assembly taking no notice of angry citizens packing into the chambers is but one indication. The 2nd item to address is totally un-PC: it is the dumping of druggies, inebriates and psychos from the rural villages onto the two true cities of Alaska, and the failure of the native corporations to use their wealth to end it. The villages have ever been a Third World culture of poverty, and Fbks & Anc are following suit. This destruction of American prosperity is done intentionally by the power of Soros/Gates money, easily controlling a geographically and racially divided state, too large for any honest faction to unite or control.
