There was another mass shooting by a transgender individual last Wednesday. A 23-year-old man named Robin Westman opened fire on a Catholic school in Minneapolis, killing 2 kids and wounding 18 others. The shooting was a horrific tragedy, but neither the gun used nor the evil individual wielding it was the root cause of this and other similar shootings.

Unfortunately, neither political party has been able to identify the real issue or find ways to resolve it. Democrats resorted to the same tired old solution they always propose, of harsh gun control measures aimed at eliminating private gun ownership. You have to wonder if they like this idea so much, why don’t they propose eliminating private automobile ownership after every vehicle accident, or privately owned aircraft when a plane crashes? The answer is that they know this solution is impractical, but advocating for limitations on gun ownership generates support from their liberal base, who mostly live in Democrat run cities with high crime rates.

We must look deeper than the trite solutions proposed by both political parties to get to the root cause of this epidemic of violence that seems to have some correlation with the transgender community.

The Republicans aren’t much better. They blame the individual, and yes, the shooter was out of his mind and should never have owned a firearm. However, not all transgender individuals are a danger to society.

Just before last Wednesday’s mass shooting, several local doctors wrote letters published in the Anchorage paper opposing restrictions the state medical board has proposed placing on so-called transgender care to teens.

The blame for this mass shooting probably belongs to members of the medical community providing transgender care for young people. These well-intentioned but misguided physicians give teens in crisis the false hope that their mental problems will benefit from transgender medical treatment and prescriptions for antidepressant medication. When the treatments don’t solve their mental health issues, these teens can lash out resulting in the incidents in violence we have seen from Mr. Westman and others. In the name of being compassionate, doctors are inadvertently creating a small community of individuals who have been mentally harmed by the very treatments that are supposed to help them.

So, what are the facts about this particular mass shooter? In a manifesto that the shooter left, he expressed that he was tired of being trans and regrets ever transitioning to a faux female. He said he would prefer to return to his birth gender, except that it would be admitting defeat to do so.

This is a common aspect of the transgender movement that does not get much attention. Transition regret is a very real phenomenon, where these kids come to the realization that the treatments they have received don’t solve the underlying problems. They discover that they have been taken advantage of by a large medical industrial complex that wants to treat them in a highly transactional manner. They are rushed into the transition protocol and for the rest of their lives they become cash cows for the pharmaceutical industry. Some individuals are able to tolerate transition; many, like Mr. Westman, can’t and resort to suicide in a very public way.

In what can only be described as absolutely terrible timing, just before last Wednesday’s mass shooting, several local doctors wrote letters published in the Anchorage paper opposing restrictions the state medical board has proposed placing on so-called transgender care to teens. The doctors opposed to these restrictions might be motivated by compassion, but they might have other motivations. If teen transgender care is restricted by the state, not only will these doctors lose a major source of income, but they may be subject to lawsuits from all the teens they have treated. Their support for transgender care may be an attempt at avoiding legal accountability. We should question the very premise that these physicians are operating under. Are they motivated by concern for the true health of the patient, or is there something more sinister involved?

Another aspect of the transgender medical treatments that is not well covered is the destructive nature of long-term use of SSRIs and Benzodiazepines. These drugs are often given to transgender kids suffering from depression and anxiety. The use of these psychotropic drugs and how they impact teens in transgender care was recently discussed on a Tucker Carlson video podcast, which I highly recommend you take the time to watch. Psychiatrist Josef Witt-Doerring alleges that there is no benefit to long-term use of these drugs, and there are known side effects that are very severe, including suicidal behavior, the very behavior that last Wednesday’s school shooter engaged in after murdering the kids at the church school.

This article isn’t an attempt to stigmatize the mentally ill. They are suffering from real mental illnesses, with real treatment needs. However, our society needs to find compassionate ways to deal with the problems that don’t require disfiguring surgeries or the use of addictive drugs with harmful side effects. Transgender kids have been failed by their doctors, by their parents, and by our communities if we allow the practice to continue. It is time to stop the barbaric practice of sacrificing our young people on the altar of a failed woke ideology. We must stop all transgender procedures for minor children immediately.
