One day after conservative social influencer Charlie Kirk was assassinated during a college speaking event, Bethel City Attorney Libby Bakalar posted a meme that appears to be directed to leftists who were openly celebrating Kirk’s death.

“Make Joyfully Dancing on People’s Graves Something You Do in the Contented Privacy of Your Own Head Instead of on The Internet for Easy Clout Great Again,” the Sept. 11 Facebook post stated.

Bakalar has served as Bethel’s city attorney since 2020. Prior to that she was a state attorney. She also runs a hard-left blog – One Hot Mess – that gained national attention with its often puerile and raunchy content.

As Bethel’s city attorney, Bakalar acts as the top legal advisor on matters concerning local government.

Bakalar’s post about “dancing on people’s graves” comes at time when many left-leaning Americans are openly celebrating the killing of Charlie Kirk, a man who spent his life engaging in peaceful dialogue with college students around the nation.

I had wondered who ” One Hot Mess “was.

  • Proud Alaskan says:

You work for the public if you used your work account to send these vile statements you should be fired. I would still fire this person anyways. We don’t need this evil in our public places.
Yes, you have the right to speak it’s called the first amendment. But you do not have the right to that job.

    • Manny Mullen says:

Glad you’re not part of the judicial system.

    • Yes, fire moral repugnant people says:

Employers should fire people who demonstrate poor moral character…it is not a free speech issue, it is an employer rights issue…government agents are employees to the entire public, she has shown she can not be trusted to be impartial and is deranged enough to publicly broadcast support for political assinations…pretty cut and dry.

      • Manny Mullen says:

Yes. No, it is not cut and dry. It is purely a free speech issue. What is the definition of moral character, impartial and deranged? Do YOU get to decide? Would you like to compare her comments with what Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) said about Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) [about Charlie Kirk]: “She’s a nasty human being. She hates her country. She hates our country so much she doesn’t have to be here. She’s disgusting, she’s vile. She’s literally accusing me of substance abuse. When have you ever seen me abuse any substance? She’s a liar and she’s a vile human.”

“F**k her,” Mace said in an interview.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) is pushing not only to censure Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) over her response to the killing [of Charlie Kirk] but for Omar to be stripped of her citizenship and deported.

  • Johnny says:

What a sick comment to make, disgusting.

  • Proud Alaskan says:

Johnny and Manny are you watching the news, the real news. Look Jimmy Kimmel just lost his job and many others for saying bad things about Charlie Kirk.
Johnny and Manny maybe you should watch what you say about Charlie Kirk. You might lose your jobs too, if you have Jobs, you’re probably living in your parent’s basement and living off the government.

    • Fire Them All says:

No, Jimmy Kimmel lost his job for LYING…what employer keeps deranged flyers on the payroll?

    • Manny Mullen says:

Here’s what I posted on Watchman elsewhere. Are you going to snoop around my employment and tattle? Do you wear clutchable pearls above your bonneted prairre dress? “I’m as liberal as they come. Kirk’s beliefs are 100% different than mine. From all accounts, he managed to unite his followers, was not vulgar like Alex Jones and Steve Bannon and followed a perfect political, community organizing model.”

  • Charle says:

Poor Bethel, I feel so sorry for them. Being in the grip of such an awful person makes me worry for their future, their children, and their own peace of mind. Hate begets hate and for someone who hates to even be in the same community is like inviting Satan into your head.
