Fresh off of a moving vigil in honor of Charlie Kirk, the newly revitalized Turning Point USA chapter at the University of Alaska Anchorage is set to hold its first organizational meeting on Oct. 2.

“It’s time! We’re officially hosting the very first Turning Point USA at UAA chapter meeting!” a notice on the group’s Instagram page states. “Come be part of the foundation of this chapter, we’re just getting started.”

The meeting will be held 6-7:30 p.m. in the Social Sciences Building, Room 119 (SSB 119).

Last week, the UAA Turning Point chapter hosted a vigil for their founder, Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot during a campus speaking event in Utah on Sept. 10. An estimated 700 people attended the Anchorage vigil at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium on the UAA campus.

Since Kirk’s death, Turning Point chapters have dramatically surged around the nation, as tens of thousands of college students flock to the conservative campus movement.

The growing Turning Point chapter at University of Alaska Fairbanks will also have a meeting on Oct. 2 to debate the topic of immigration. Click here for details.
