In a public display of solidarity, Alaskans who are ready to repeal the state’s controversial ranked-choice voting system are invited to join a caravan of fellow advocates for a five minute walk to deliver 48,000 signatures to the Division of Elections.
The march will start at the Anchorage Home Depot parking lot (4000 Rodeo Place), beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 6.
“Everyone who wants to repeal ranked choice voting is invited to join us Thursday, 11/6, to deliver the petition books,” a notice from organizers states.
In garnering 48,000 signatures, the repeal effort appears to have more than enough signatures to ensure that voters will have another shot at ditching ranked-choice voting. According to Alaska law, initiative sponsors in 2025 must gather at least 34,098 valid signatures of registered voters and must include designated minimums from at least 30 of the state’s 40 House districts.
In 2024, voters nearly overturned the ranked-choice system, losing by only 800 votes – 160,861 to 160,124, while being massively outspent by opponents who were flush with outside money.

Alaskans can do this… In my adopted state of Idaho we crushed RCV on the ballot last year, with overwhelming no !
Excellent idea!
TY! For Not giving up! Let’s Roll!
Rank choice is here to stay. Why is that? Because most Alaskans are stupid or lazy or both. Prove me wrong.
No because ANC is a West Coast leftist town & half of AK lives in ANC.
Same w/ Western AK ….. full blown government leftists.
Although you are right …. stupid and lazy are factors.
You’ll never repeal RCV, unless you have poll watchers in rural communities. We have extremely late ballots being returned from rural communities and this is how Lisa Murkowski wins her elections. If you want to repeal RCV then be prepared to have poll watchers during the election .
Citizinkane, and Danny, are both right.
