I’m looking for Donald Trump. The one I voted for three times.
I knew he wasn’t perfect, and wouldn’t be anywhere near close to following the Constitution. No president is, even those we admire most, like Washington, Jefferson and Madison. We all have to “pick our poison” when we vote. I was pleasantly surprised by his first term. I defended him when they stole the election from him in 2020, and when they put him through lawfare for four years. The Democrats have proven that they are the party of death. Voting for Trump was a no brainer.
I have known that the Deep State existed since I read None Dare Call It Treason and None Dare Call It Conspiracy decades ago. I knew that the John Birch Society and Joseph McCarthy were demonized because they were too close to the truth. The Deep State is much, much more evil than most people realize.
Aside from murdering the Kennedys, they cleverly compromised the youngest one, Teddy, into being their obedient servant. They completely control Alaska; they stole the GOP nomination from Ron Paul. Trump knows all this by now, and the four years of horrendous suffering he has had to undergo, and the close calls with death, has made him a lot more truculent than before.
The so-called “War on Drugs” is a shopworn, useless program, pretty much like LBJ’s “War on Poverty.”
I don’t blame him for putting his enemies under the microscope, and the Republican congress must expose the Deep State and globalists while they possess a majority, for the sake of all Americans. Calling it “Partisanship!” rings hollow, considering what the Democrats were doing.
But Trump is selling out his own coalition with his war-making. The Left has discovered that the Zionist Lobby controls American politics, and it is the one thing that might unite them with the authentic patriots on the Right. The Left has already forfeited the Left-Right coalition that opposed Big Pharma, with their Covid hypocrisies, and they have completely sold their souls over forced vaxes. “My body, my choice” only applied to killing babies for them.
But many on the Right have their own blind spot. It is the Jerry Falwell/Scofield Bible crowd, that would pander to the Zionist Lobby, as if that alone would save America. That is about as Pharisaic as I can imagine: the idea that God is more interested in form, than He is in hearts.
Trump is a New Yorker and New Yorkers have always been pro-Zionism. He has yet to discover that those times are over. His denunciation of Marjorie Taylor Green, Thomas Massie, Tucker Carlson and Rand Paul demonstrates that he really does not understand basic limited government principles. He is throwing all that out for the sake of marrying us to the corrupt and murderous Israeli State.
The problem of fatherless families, drugs, sex and self-gratification will never be cured by government. Blasting drug boats and napalm-bombing poppy plantations won’t end it.
And now we have Venezuela. It is as absurd a militaristic venture as we could conjure. They have been a communist government for a long time. We haven’t invaded Cuba, which is a lot closer and potentially more dangerous. The so-called “War on Drugs” is a shopworn, useless program, pretty much like LBJ’s “War on Poverty.”
Give it up, Donald. We voted for you to keep us OUT of wars, and all of yours have been, of course, undeclared. You’ve got bi-partisan company: Truman, Johnson, Nixon, Reagan, Bush I & II, Clinton, Obama and Biden. Venezuela’s contribution to America’s drug problem is nothing compared to Mexico, and they are a lot closer. But that would be a very costly and impossible war to wage, and you wouldn’t get the votes in Congress. We were unjust in invading Mexico in 1846. Maybe not in 1916, but that went nowhere into a wild goose chase.
Venezuela is a softer target, but the War on Drugs cannot be won by military action.
No, it must be done by dealing with the problem that creates the market for drugs, meaning our own feckless and indifferent citizenry. It crosses all economic and racial classes. Marijuana, cocaine, opioids and heroin all damage our health, our heads and our spirits.

It will end when the market dries up. And even benign government actions, like anti-drug and STD posters and leaflets, school curriculums and programs, will do nothing but make people feel good, without solving the problem. It cannot change those “Hearts and Minds of the people.”

No, that belongs to religion. And all religions tell us that 1) there is a supernatural world, 2) we are all going to die, 3) there is a Natural Law, 4) we will be called to account, 5) there is hope for every individual.
Once the government supported religions with stamps that said, “Pray for Peace,” commercials that said, “The Family that prays together, stays together,” and “Worship together this week.” Presidents called for a day of fasting, humiliation and prayer, something that the people of Nineveh discovered actually works. That is about all it can do. Hand off the ball and let religion run with it.
There is an incredible thing about repentance. Individuals can begin it any time, and it works. But for a whole society to repent, it needs a leader, and a humble one. I did not expect Trump to be humble. But if he repented, it would set the table for us all, just as his denunciation of abortion, transgender surgeries and defense of women’s sports has already done – worldwide.
It would show that the best thing government can do is to turn some things over to God.

Beautiful! I pray that Trump will repent. But the problem with any president is that he is so bowed to by those around him that he forgets that he is only a human being. God help us all. Thanks for bravely speaking out for so many of us who feel the same way.

I don’t get it. People love to complain when things aren’t going the way they would have them go but offer no solution themselves. You know what opinions are like don’t you.
There were a lot of political and economic attacks that Trump instigated immediately after his inauguration that I was furious over, especially the Canada and Greenland things and much of his tariff games. That all seemed inappropriate. But Venezuela? Columbia? Panama? Mexico? If Vlad can have “special military operations” over “Nazis” in Ukraine, splashing the cartels in their speedboats and submersibles is fair game. I’m waiting for some air sorties on the cartels on the ground in any of the above countries any day now.

I’m always amused when people think that Trump is a “godly” man, that he was somehow placed in the White House through some sort of divine proviedence. Sure, he’ll invite evanglical leaders into the Oval Office, where they’ll surround him and lay hands on him and pray on him, and of course he’ll close his eye obediently for the cameras because it plays well to the base. But anyone who thinks Trump is a REMOTELY “God-fearing” man is hopelessly naive.
The global elite control both parties, they give money to the Democratic Party and they give money to the Republican Party. So, no matter who gets in the White House, they (global elite) still controls him. They control him through their advisors. But having said all of this though, for me it’s better to vote for an individual who will still support my conservative Christian values. ✌️
Wow. Bob Bird, I’m disappointed and my respect for you is gone. Ridiculous statements like “The Zionist Lobby controls American politics” and referring to our our ally Israel, who as a nation are far more moral and careful in their warfare tactics than any other Nation in a war that they did not start, as the “murderous Israeli state” are not only completely false, but serve as fodder for the ever growing anti-Semitic crazies on both the right and the left. Don’t give justification to the hateful rhetoric, which in the end is never just words, but always ends up in violence against the “others. ” In this case the others are innocent Jewish people throughout America and the world who are being ridiculed, attacked and persecuted on an ever increasing basis because of the ideas being put out there by articles like this. You can’t blame Israel for all the problems in America, and you can’t say they’re murderous just because everybody around them wants to murder them and they fight back. If you really want to promote “religion” in America, read your Bible. America is a Christian Nation, and our God is the Holy One of Israel, the Mighty one of Jacob. However, I do agree with you on one thing, America is a Christian nation. Where Bob and I disagree is defining religion or Christianity as the two are very different. One can be religious and not be a Christian, this is evident worldwide. One can be a Christian without religion though. Religion has a nasty habit of putting their interpretation on the Bible and their definition of Christianity. Jesus warned against that, we should listen.
Well said Brandi! I am actually surprised that Watchman published this piece since it supports antisemitism and fans the flames of conspiracy theories of pharisaical Zionists and murderous Israelis! I hope Bob has read Jesus’ words that “salvation is of the Jews”( Jn 4:22) and Paul’s statement that “I am not ashamed of the Gospel because it is the power of God for salvation of everyone who believes, first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.”( Ro 1:16). And in Genesis 12:3 – God says to Abraham, ” I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you, I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” ( Careful, Bob!) And all of Romans 11 in which Paul describes the natural olive tree ( Israel) into which we, the Gentile wild branches are grafted. We depend on the roots of the tree. At the end of chapter 10 God describes Israel as a “disobedient and obstinate people”. But in the beginning of Chapter 11, Paul says, “Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin. God did not reject His people , whom He foreknew.” Concerning a pharisaical attitude, I believe Bob’s anti Israel attitude is actually the pharisaical one, not those of us who might consider ourselves ” Christian Zionists” ( and I fully support Jerry Falwell’s Liberty University, where my own daughter attended). A Zionist loves Zion ( God’s people and land). We ( Bob included) are part of ZION as believers in our Jewish Messiah, Yeshua. Paul writes these words in Romans chapter 11:19-31, ” Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in…do not be arrogant but be afraid. For if God did not spare the natural branches He will not spare you either. Consider the kindness and sternness of God…continue in His kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off…God is able to graft them in again…how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own tree!..All Israel will be saved, as it is written: The deliverer will come from ZION; He will turn godlessness away from Jacob ( Israel) . And this is My covenant with them when I take their sins…they too may now receive mercy as a result of God’s mercy to you ( Gentiles)”. Whether he believes it or not, Bob is tied to Israel and their salvation. God has a plan for Israel. And God ( through Paul’s writing) warns us not to be arrogant toward Israel. Bob talks about repentance and humility needed by Trump, but actually Bob’s admonition applies to himself. Yes, as Bob says, God is interested in hearts, not form ( religious self righteousness). Bob could “set the table for us all” by repenting for his antisemitism.
As far as Trump’s undeclared war on drugs, I can easily compare that to the war on abortion that Bob and I have fought together, for 20 years. Trump’s methods will save many, though his means are imperfect, as Bob says. Similarly, we prolifers who blocked abortion clinics, prayed in front of Planned Parenthoods, ran pregnancy centers, put up posters ( Bob’s held many a banner on roadsides) and handed out flyers, and educated school children, have used imperfect methods, but will and do save many babies and moms. Every life saved is worth the effort. When Jesus returns, there will be worldwide repentance and these imperfect, undeclared wars on sin will end. But until then, we will fight to save whom we can. God calls us to these battles, as Bob well knows.
Dang Bob, you are right on point and I admire you for speaking out about the elephant(s) in the room! It is dangerous, but perhaps getting less dangerous as more and more people are seeing things as they are.
