Mat-Su Republican leaders in House Districts 26 and 29 are looking for qualified applicants who want to serve in the Alaska State House.
Two Mat-Su seats are currently vacant after former Representatives George Rauscher and Cathy Tilton were confirmed to serve in the Alaska State Senate – replacing Senators Shelley Hughes and Mike Shower.
Gov. Mike Dunleavy is required to fill the House vacancies on or before December 29. Pursuant to Alaska Republican Party Rules, Chairman Carmela J. Warfield is requesting Republican residents of Districts 26 and 29 to submit an application for consideration before 5 p.m. on December 4.
The interview and selection process will take place at the Best Western Lake Lucille Inn on Dec. 7. The meeting is not open to the public.
Applicants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with all statutory and legal requirements (click here for details).
All applicants must submit a completed and notarized Alaska Republican Party application with respect to filing for office and financial disclosure, as well as a cover letter and resume, electronically to admin@alaskagop.net. Applications submitted after 5 p.m. on Dec. 4 will be disregarded.
