With a handful of Republicans enabling Democrats to maintain firm majority control of the Alaska State Senate and House, Planned Parenthood is hoping leftwing lawmakers will be in a position to approve a slew of measures that expand abortion, contraception and explicit sex education for Alaska youth.

A Jan. 21 call to action from Morgan Lim, the Alaska State Director of Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates, calls on abortion activists to “gear up for another Alaska Legislative Session” by engaging lawmakers throughout the current legislative session, which began on Jan. 20.

According to Lim, the abortion giant is seeking to marshal its allies in “building the power needed to meet this moment.”

One tactic Planned Parenthood plans to utilize is gathering and sharing personal stories to pull on lawmakers’ heartstrings.

“Personal stories remain one of the most powerful tools we have to move lawmakers,” Lim acknowledged. “We invite you share your story by filling out our form. A member of our team will follow up. You’ll always be in control of how (and if) your story is used.”

Additionally, Planned Parenthood has hired a new Alaska field organizer, Bri Gonzales Campbell, to share emotional tales in the state capitol in hopes of persuading certain lawmakers in Juneau to back the abortion lobby’s agenda.

Meanwhile, pro-life advocates will likely be on the defensive this session, working to block measures that advance abortion or undermine parental rights, while urging the conservative minority to stand strong.
