Lisa Murkowski continues to oppose the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, despite overwhelming support from the American people and her RINO partner in crime, Senator Collins (R-MA), flipping in support of it. We know Murkowski is being dishonest when she argues that she is boldly standing up for the U.S. Constitution by opposing this bill, leaving us to wonder what her real motivation might be. It could be that she hates President Trump so much that, since he is supporting the SAVE Act, she is willing to be on the wrong side of an 80/20 issue to hurt him politically.
Maybe she secretly hopes that by opposing the SAVE Act, she is enabling the Democrats to take control of the House in November so that they can fulfill their promise to impeach the president. If this is what she desires, it could happen. Historically, the political party that opposes the president typically picks up seats in midterm elections. The current House majority is only five seats (218-213), and the president’s party typically loses 28 House seats. If this year follows that trend, the House will flip to Democratic control. You might think this unlikely, but in the 2018 midterm election, the first time he was in office, Democrats took 41 seats and control of the House away from the Republicans. It could happen again.
Murkowski is a smart politician and knows that a tactic like this will tie up the president in impeachment hearings for the next two years, effectively stopping his presidency in its tracks.
Perhaps this is what the Machiavellian Murkowski is counting on. Last month, Congressman Shri Thanedar, a Democrat from Michigan, introduced articles of impeachment against President Trump. With the current Republican majority in the House, that impeachment attempt will go nowhere. However, if history holds, and after the November election, the Democrats hold a 235-198 majority in the House, you can certainly expect another impeachment attempt that the House will approve, and the Senate will have to consider.
I do not believe that this impeachment would successfully remove President Trump from office, but that isn’t the point of it. If the House votes to impeach him again, it would be a successful strategy in attacking the President’s agenda, which may be what Murkowski is counting on. If the House votes to impeach the president, forcing the Senate to conduct an impeachment trial, it will effectively halt any further implementation of the president’s programs.
One example of how this would work is the number of open U.S. Attorney positions. There are 93 in this country who are appointed by the president and require confirmation by the Senate. As of today, 51 of those positions are filled with interim or acting U.S. Attorneys awaiting confirmation. They can only serve for a limited time without Senate approval. Multiple interim U.S. Attorneys have failed to get a Senate confirmation hearing and have had to resign. Blocking approval for U.S. Attorneys is an effective tool the Senate can use to halt any prosecution of crimes committed under previous administrations.
If the House should impeach the president, the Senate would stop approval for any new U.S. Attorneys. They would use a faulty excuse, like it would be inappropriate to proceed with the president’s appointments, knowing that he might be removed from office. They will say this knowing full well that there is no way there will be enough votes in the Senate to remove President Trump. They have already tried to do this twice, with no success, and this will simply be a tactic used to impede the president.

However, it all depends on Democrats winning control of the House, something that might not happen if the SAVE Act passes. That may be why she does not support it.
I have no idea why Murkowski hates the president to such an extent. Maybe it is because she benefits from voters who can’t prove their citizenship to win elections in Alaska. Perhaps it was because President Trump supported Kelly Tshibaka in the last election against her, and now she wants to pay him back. Maybe Lisa is just a liberal who hates strong conservatives because they oppose her worldview. Whatever her reasons, if Murkowski is successful in stopping the SAVE Act from passage, it will not only flip the House to Democratic control but will effectively end Donald Trump’s presidency. That may be all the motivation that a staunch leftist like Murkowski needs to do what she is doing.
It is hard to believe, but the fate of the nation rests on the opposition of one feckless liberal idiot. God help us all.

When she accepted her daddy’s appointment to the senate, I learned all I needed to know about both of them.
The Save Act stops a strong element of corruption, and Murkowski is all about corruption no matter what is at stake. She has done everything to destroy voting by planning, creating and supporting Rank Choice Voting and using that as the weapon to keep herself and the worst of the worst in elected positions. She hates Trump for working to change that and despises his work and energy in politics, which makes him popular as he gets the country moving in the right direction. Remember that she voted on major bills for Biden and shared support and political activity with Biden. Her last appearance in Munich shows that she goes to great lengths to make herself look important and part of something, even though she had no requested representation or reason to be there. She is a confused and should do the state a favor and quit.
Exactly Diana. The Save Act stops election corruption and/or puts a huge damper on corrupted voting.
If there is any evidence to support why Senators should find it constitutionally correct to endorse fair elections it would be that American citizens have a right to KNOW our elections are safeguarded and to be confident our votes are counted and NOT the votes of people who are in this country illegally.
Those who oppose the SAVE ACT do so likely because they themselves have benefited from some one of the many grey areas that plague our election process – especially in Alaska.
For Murkowski, the evidence of this truth lies within her underhanded ways of sliding into the seat and representing (herself) in the Senate.
And let me say without reservation that she makes a mockery of our elections and our state.
In my opinion there are many reasons for citizens to not want to keep Trump in power. People on this platform love that he’s a felon. They love Trump for lowering grocery prices. In my grocery store, prices are still high but no matter to Trump supporters. Trump promised to deport criminals yet he has chosen the strong arm method, not of using intelligence to identify illegals, but by detaining brown skin people now and then look for their legal status later. Trump lovers are satisfied our new health care system. They don’t want Trump to confess to allies that the USA will get Greenland by military means if necessary. His supporters love him for fooling the idiot allies and liberals. I don’t like him because he’s got such a criminal mind. He’s a convicted for liability for sexual assault. He’s not a good guy but he’s just a punk. His supporters love him for that. 50,000 Dow . That’s their only bottom line.

Steve, I couldn’t agree with you more! You described Lisa in a nutshell.
Today I received a reply from Lisa. I wrote her about her non-support of President Donald Trump, and to curtail her obvious animus towards him. Her reply didn’t surprise me, it was written in the context that I had ask to to continue her behavior. She boasted about not supporting President Trump’s cabinet nomination, how she was passionately against cutting funds to partisan organizations, i.e. Public Broadcasting. She wrote “I have voted with the administration’s priorities 55.71 percent of the time”, and that’s her true Conservative score. The letter struck me as if she was a liberal writing to another liberal. To top it off when I went to reply to her response her email address came up as; Senator Murkowski proving once again Lisa Murkowski doesn’t want a dialog with her constituents unless you come to her office in Washington DC bearing gifts.

I would add that your plausible impeachment theory scared me and can only hope the future doesn’t follow the past and we don’t have to endure another few years of ridiculous court and/or impeachment proceedings focused on hatred of Trump.
