In the wake of the 2024 GOP victories across the nation, an outside liberal super PAC has launched a new AI-powered program aimed at analyzing voter concerns in Alaska and elsewhere in order to plot targeted campaign messages for left-wing candidates like Mary Peltola.
The goal is to help Democratic candidates better resonate with voters by downplaying divisive cultural issues that resulted in a massive voter disconnect two years ago.
The mastermind behind this new AI technology is a colossal Democrat-aligned political operation called Swing Left.
With a focus on fundraising, voter mobilization, door-knocking, phone banking, and letter-writing campaigns, the group deploys more than 1 million grassroots members, including hundreds of local groups across dozens of states.
Some of these operatives are moving through Alaska communities – door-to-door – utilizing Swing Left’s latest innovation. It’s called “Ground Truth,” which is being used to help Democratic U.S. Senatorial hopeful Mary Peltola in her bid to unseat Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan in November.
Once AI has processed the data, Democrat strategists use the information to refine a candidate’s messaging so that they come across as more appealing and relevant to voters.
The advanced technology is centered on a concept called “deep canvassing,” wherein volunteers knock on every single door in targeted precincts, engaging voters from all party affiliations and persuasions, including low-turnout voters and those who feel disconnected from politics.
When a person answers the door, the volunteer embarks on a 10-15 “conversation” aimed at coaxing the voter into sharing their personal hopes, fears and concerns.
Volunteers begin with open-ended prompts like “How are things going in your community lately?” They are then trained to share a brief “personal story,” before inviting the voter to open up and go into greater detail about how certain issues affect their lives. Volunteers are not to interrupt or debate the voter but only listen and learn. Essentially, they are harvesting information for the AI program to analyze.
According to the Ground Truth website, immediately after each interaction, the volunteers are then instructed to use a mobile app to record voice-to-text summaries of the conversations. This is downloaded to the AI program, which analyzes hundreds of voice notes to identify local themes, frustrations, and shifts in voter sentiment.
Once AI has processed the data, Democrat strategists use the information to refine a candidate’s messaging in hopes that they can come across as more appealing and relevant to voters. This same information is used to refine messaging in political mailers as well.
A recent Ground Truth press release boasted that its operatives were underway in Alaska.

“Alaska is one of the most unique and consequential political environments in the country, and exactly the kind of state where Ground Truth can make the difference,” said Yasmin Radjy, Executive Director of Swing Left. “One thing’s for sure: we can’t win in Alaska by mimicking tired tactics from the lower 48.”
She added that winning in Alaska will involve building trust with Republicans and independents.
“We’ll be working to build that trust door-to-door in the cities, but also in fish camps and festivals,” she continued. “Ground Truth was built to make it easy to integrate that critical organizing work into campaign infrastructure.”
While Swing Left is a national organization, it has ties to local left-wing activist organizations like the 907 Initiative, a group that is currently engaged in door knocking around the state.
In late 2025, Swing Left held an event featuring Mary Peltola, aimed at raising support for 907 Initiative’s media and digital outreach campaigns targeting Sen. Dan Sullivan.
