Hard-left administrators presiding over the Fairbanks School District want to use public schools to foster deep philosophical debate over highly controversial issues.
Last week, the district asked the school board to approve a policy update that empowers and protects teachers who raise objectionable topics in the classroom.
Remarkably, the district claimed that it was not interested in teaching controversial topics for the sake exploring the issues themselves, but simply to help kids gain critical thinking “skills.” The district asserts that it will not favor one perspective over any other, but rather allow for equal time on all sides of the debate. After all, the only goal is to gain cognitive “skills” not to discover truth and dispel error.
The conservative minority on the school board were rightly skeptical about the true aim.
It’s no secret that Fairbanks schools, like many around the nation, have actively pushed a particular hard-left narrative when it comes to critical race theory, LGBTQ politics and explicit sex education. Now these educational bureaucrats want formal board backing to double down and begin actively interjecting controversial topics into a wide array of subjects.
If this is what the Fairbanks School District has become, let them be open and unashamed about the fact that they wish to control the moral development of children. If parents don’t trust teachers with this profound responsibility, let them respond by continuing to pull their children from the system.

They say they want to “…simply to help kids gain critical thinking “skills.” Yes, recruitment is critical to the sexual deviants who want kids to think in a manner critical of traditional values. Just a backdoor way of saying that they are being groomed. The deviants must do this since they cannot reproduce naturally and rely upon heterosexuals to produce for them while affirming deviancy.
