In Alaska and around the nation, parents are increasingly choosing alternatives to traditional public schooling for their children. Both homeschooling and private education have exploded over the past few years.

To mark national school choice week, Alaska will hold a School Choice Celebration on Jan. 22, 4-7 p.m., at the Alaska Native Heritage Center in Anchorage.

The free event will highlight a wide variety of learning options, including homeschool classes, private Christian schools, online education, public charter schools, micro-school communities, extracurricular options and much more.

Special speakers will include Anchorage Mayor Dave Bronson, Anchorage School Board Member Dave Donley and Mat-Su School Board Member Jubilee Underwood along with educators from both private and public schools.

Through educational booths and inspiring guest speakers, the fair aims to empower families to navigate Alaska’s school landscape and advocate for the choices that work best for their children.

“Come celebrate all the great options that are available for Alaskan students! This is the Alaska flagship event for National School Choice Week, sponsored by Brave Nation,” a notice for the event states. “We will have educational vendors and other community supporters to help families discover options that will enrich their learning experiences. There will be free snacks, activities, school choice SWAG, prizes, great speakers and fun performances along with an opportunity to purchase dinner, so come after school and bring the whole family!”

Vendors open and student/vendor performances happen from 4-6. The main program begins at 6.

Special theater activities will include the following:

— 4 p.m. – “Mz. Grundy’s Klondike Adventure” Storytime

— 4:30 p.m. – Hands on Art with Esther Kelly

— 5 p.m. – Alpine Studios presents solo singer and songwriter Olivia Bayless and five-piece youth band Martin and the Mailmen

— 5:30 p.m. – Prize Drawing

“You’ll get the chance to meet educators and get your questions answered to help you make the best and most informed choice for your family,” a notice about the convention states. “This event will be fun and family-friendly, featuring free activities and food!”

This is just emblematic of a long, systematic effort by conservatives to dismantle the public school system. So much public funding is being diverted from public schools into private, “charter,” and parochial schools and homeschooling that eventually the public school system will simply collapse. Conservatives have had the Department of Education in their crosshairs for some 50 years now, so that eventually there will be no such thing as educational standards. This all reflects that growing anti-intellectualism in the United States.

Conservatives need not do anything. The leftists have already dismantled the public school system and changed its primary purpose from education and character building to indoctrination and moral decay and the concomitant anti-intellectualism you speak of. For too long, compulsory public education created captive audiences for Marxist degenerates to ruin the futures of millions of American children. Test scores plummeted and so teaching to the test became necessary. Even then, test scores continued to plummet despite “No Child left behind” nonsense causing schools to dumb down the test material. Character assassination through sexual mis-education, historical revisionism, hollow and deceptive philosophies, promotion of the state secular religion, anti-patriotism, self loathing, DEI nonsense, etc…. has made the public school system a shell of its former self. Add to that the ridiculously top-heavy pay scales of administration vs. teachers and the assault on parents rights and you have a bomb that is set to explode. Idiotic Covid regulations lit the fuse. There is no turning back.

Once again, you are perfectly describing what the demons are actually doing as they put the blame on team humanity.
