Alaska’s U.S. Rep. Mary Peltola joined her Democratic colleagues in Congress in a failed attempt to block a GOP-led bill that aims to include a citizenship question in the 2030 U.S. Census to ensure that noncitizens are not used in the official population numbers that determine each state’s congressional seats and electoral votes.
The question would not exclude any census respondent, but would simply clarify whether they are a U.S. citizen or not. The bill has little chance of passing the Senate or being signed by President Joe Biden.
The bill ultimately passed the House on a 206-202 party-line vote, but Peltola’s “no” vote drew the attention of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).
“Democrats just said the quiet part out loud,” a May 10 statement from the NRCC stated. “Today, Mary Peltola just voted to allow the census to continue counting noncitizens. By including noncitizens in congressional district apportionment, they are letting sanctuary cities and states get outsized representation in Congress.”
NRCC Spokesman Ben Petersen added that Peltola’s vote shows she “will put noncitizens ahead of American citizens to obtain more political power. As border chaos spirals out of control — endangering the lives and livelihoods of American citizens — it is beyond the pale that her priorities don’t include her constituents’ needs.”

Former President Donald Trump attempted to include a citizenship question in the latest 2020 census, but it was blocked by the U.S. Supreme Court. Republicans, however, maintain that the census should not benefit states that create so-called “sanctuary cities” in violation of federal immigration laws.
House Speaker Mike Johnson issued a statement after the bill passed the House, saying: “Common sense dictates that only American citizens should be counted for electoral apportionment.”
While the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states that the population count of the U.S. must include “whole numbers of persons in each state,” the Constitution does not state that noncitizens should be counted for congressional seats or electoral votes, nor does it define what is meant by persons of the United States.

Peltola obviously went into the “swamp” without any idea of working for Alaska. The “swamp” absorbed her immediately. She got in because of rank-choice voting. The native vote wanted another better native and tried to take to court the problem Al Gross illegally dropping out. (The judge said it was illegal but did nothing about it.) Perhaps if conservatives and Conservative Christians work collectively, we can vote Peltola out of office, and get Nick Begich elected. This will require Christians to engage in studying and understanding our problem and voting Nick into her seat. Nancy Dahlstrom needs to drop out so we don’t split the vote.. Nick is our conservative choice. The Christians and Christian leaders need to engage in the voting process. This is a large voting block on our side and we need to win the Alaska seat in the House.

That was the whole plan for opening the gate wide for invasion. The left only win elections by extraneous and unethical means. Vote harvesting, Rigged Choice Voting, bringing in droves of non citizens and nefarious invaders and then counting them with citizens. Are we surprised? There is no foundation of right and wrong, relativity rules. He end justifies the means. Peltola is only a sheep wanting to be included in the leftist fold.
