Americans for Prosperity – Alaska is ramping up efforts to get solid conservative majorities in the Alaska Legislature, defeat Democratic U.S. Rep. Mary Peltola, and empower parents to fight woke school agendas.

Through a series of events, trainings and door-to-door campaigns, the conservative advocacy group is seeking to ignite a grassroots effort that enlists friends and neighbors to take an active role in politics over the next few months.

A recent email from the group notes that June 1 was the filing deadline for state candidates, and that many “exciting” candidates have thrown their hats into the ring. A number of lawmakers are either stepping down or running for other seats, which opens the door for conservative candidates to make a move.

Notably, several longtime lawmakers – Representatives Laddie Shaw (R-Anchorage), Dan Ortiz (N/A-Ketchikan), Jennie Armstrong (D-Anchorage), and Senator Click Bishop (R-Fairbanks) are not running this year. Many other seats will be up for grabs as well with a number Republican House members seeking to run for Senate seats held by Democrats.

AFP points out that many races are “expected to be highly competitive. Because this is a presidential election year, turnout is generally higher, which often favors conservatives.”

Am truly glad to know about this effort by AFP. Besides trying to promote good candidates, another huge problem is that usually we get a very low voter turnout, and thus end up with the same incompetent leadership. Those groups that need to keep these incompetents in office make sure their members and supporters go vote. We need to get the rest of Alaskans to go vote to overcome this situation. I’m hoping this effort by AFP will make a positive change for this coming election, and hopefully help get better leadership and a large voter turn out. AFP is doing the right thing for both Alaska and our nation.

Because you were too Lazy to get out and vote. Now you can live with your non-voting consequences.
Remember people we need to vote out this Rank Choice Voting system.
One vote in person on Election Day with ID yes ID.
