A recent article, published by the taxpayer-funded Alaska Public Media, has perhaps inadvertently revealed that President Trump’s executive orders are already working to protect Alaska’s gender-confused youth from highly controversial cross-sex treatments that can result in irreversible harm.
While the Feb. 14 piece by Rachel Cassandra unabashedly aims at soliciting support for the notion that youth can “transition” to the opposite sex, the article also reveals that Trump’s actions are making a positive difference in opposing this divisive ideology.
Cassandra’s article repeatedly disregards biological sex, as she employs male pronouns to refer to females, and vice versa. She begins by recounting the difficulties that an unnamed Alaska parent has faced in procuring cross-sex hormones for her 16-year-old female daughter who now believes she is a “nonbinary transmasculine kid” with “he/they” pronouns.
According to the article, the mother fears she will no longer be able to use taxpayer-derived Medicaid dollars to get refills on “glass bottles of testosterone, supplies” for her daughter’s cross-sex ambitions. This anxiety has caused the mother to be in “a panic” since Trump took office.
The article fails to mention the fact that puberty blockers can lead to serious health conditions such as elevated spinal fluid pressure on the brain, permanent infertility, blood clotting, increased aggression, high blood pressure, inflamed liver, baldness, swelling of hands, feet and legs, weight gain, cancers of the breast, ovaries and uterus, heart disease, high cholesterol, fat deposits around internal organs, strokes, cognitive impairment, heart attacks, bone density loss, vaginal injuries and a heightened risk of STDs. Nor did it mention that 80-95% of pre-pubertal youth with gender dysphoria come to accept their biological sex as they reach adulthood.
Since taking office, President Trump has signed a flurry of executive orders that recognized the once-universally accepted reality that there are only two biological sexes.
Instead, the article focuses exclusively on the mother’s personal belief that she is doing the right thing by facilitating her daughter’s “transition” into a masculine, nonbinary identity.
Noting that the gender-confused daughter was “anxious, depressed and self-harming,” Cassandra’s article then quotes the mother’s opinion that cross-sex drugs were the only solution.
“And it wasn’t until we accessed gender-affirming care, which can mean a host of things, but until we accessed hormones, that it was almost like a magic bullet for them,” the mom claims.
Since taking office, President Trump has signed a flurry of executive orders that recognized the once-universally accepted reality that there are only two biological sexes. He has ordered federal agencies to ensure that policies and regulations reflect this truth, and has taken steps to bar gender-confused men from accessing women’s bathrooms, while working to ensure that males cannot compete on female sports teams.
Additionally, Trump has instructed federal agencies to purge their websites of LGBTQ ideology, while directing the State Department to cease granting passports with non-specific gender markers. Another order called for biological males, who believe they are females, to be moved into men’s prisons in order to protect female inmates. Trump also wants to ban “transgender” people from serving in the military.
Alaska Public Media goes to great lengths to paint Trump’s efforts in a negative light.
Furthermore, Trump has signed an executive order that seeks to stop “radical indoctrination” in the nation’s school system, and calling on the Education Department to block schools from using federal funds to support so-called “gender transitioning” or using curriculum to promote the idea that gender can be fluid.
The Alaska Public Media’s article is primarily focused on Trump’s effort to halt the use of federal taxpayer dollars to underwrite cross-sex chemicals and surgeries on youth under 19 years old – this includes puberty blockers, hormone injections and mutilating breast and reproductive organ surgeries. If fully implemented, the order would impact Medicaid and TRICARE, which serves military families.
To date, 26 states have already taken steps to bar or restrict cross-sex procedures on minors. Alaska, however, allows for state-funded Medicaid dollars to reimburse for many of these controversial interventions.
Alaska Public Media goes to great lengths to paint Trump’s efforts in a negative light.
“The tone of Trump’s executive orders isn’t a surprise to L,” the article reports. “Everyone in her tight-knit queer and trans community has been preparing for a Trump presidency.”
It adds, “stress, fear and confusion is something that Identity Health Clinic in Anchorage sees a lot of lately in their patients. The clinic is the largest provider of gender-affirming care in the state and many of their patients rely on Medicaid.”

Tom Pittman, Identity’s executive director, told Alaska Public Media that Medicaid is already denying requests for cross-sex treatments, but he is working around that through fundraisers and other means.
“It’s under attack, but we still get to, right now,” Pitman said of facilitating cross-sex interventions.
Without providing examples, the article goes on to assert that an unnamed biological man, who now identifies as a “trans woman,” has begun to question his personal safety, while lamenting that some trans women he knows are “leaving the country because they’re scared for their health and safety.”
“I’ve had friends that have submitted themselves to residential treatments already, like, this is f-ing real,” the man told Alaska Public Media. “I was thinking to myself, riding these ups and downs, ‘Man if I don’t take care of myself, I’m afraid for myself.’ I don’t want to have a mental breakdown.”
According to Alaska Public Media’s website, the PBS-affiliate claims to provide “award-winning” programing that is “unencumbered by political or commercial imperatives.”

Joel, your disgust for all people not like you is evident. Why does it bother you so much? How much of the gay and trans personal beliefs do you encounter each day (and not those you go looking for for a story)?
Maybe the Carrs checker has an ambiguous sex presentation and you aren’t sure. So what? There’s beliefs that counter my world view, but I don’t protest or try to load school boards or promote legislation full of atheists. I guess I’m saying, stay in your lane
