Earlier this year, a group of Alaska health and education officials met to collaborate on how to expand sex education and LGBTQ teacher training across the state, an agenda that most Alaska school health teachers are on board with.
Attended by 20 leading state employees, who work on government health initiatives within Alaska’s Health and Education Departments, the March 3 meeting revealed that most school health teachers across Alaska want to expand their ability teach sex-related topics and support students who believe they are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning.

A significant portion of the March 3 meeting was used for a presentation by State of Alaska Healthy Schools Specialist Naomi Davidson, who highlighted some of the results from the “2024 School Health Profiles Lead Health Teacher Survey,” which assesses school health policies and practices by asking school principals and health teachers about their professional needs.
A total of 235 Alaska schools completed the survey last year, including 184 principals and 173 lead health instructors. The health teachers said their top five sex-ed training goals included a focus on “effective instructional strategies” (64.3% of teachers), school policies or sex-ed curriculum guidance (62.8%), engaging parents in sex education (60.6%), creating a “comfortable and safe learning environment” for sex-ed classes (60.2%), and asking students about their knowledge and skills regarding sexual health issues (59.5%).
Additionally, Davidson noted that while only 17.6% of health teachers said they had received training on “how to support lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) students,” more than 55% wanted to develop these skills. Davidson’s talk acknowledged that this disparity may “reveal the differences in teacher and state priorities.”
Her presentation then noted that teachers currently receive training through various sources, including the State of Alaska’s DEED eLearning platform and project ECHOs programs.

During the presentation, Davidson’s fellow state officials lamented that most curriculum guidance and continuing education requirements are district dependent, which can be a barrier for teachers in local areas that don’t support certain controversial health agendas.
Meeting attendees also spent time talking about the high interest that Alaska’s health teachers have in being equipped to support LGBTQ students. This led to a discussion about the need to “record and pay close attention” to training requests for topics that may be subject to elimination due to “political tensions.”
They also discussed the option of connecting students to “on-site or community-based sexual health services,” noting that this would be easier if students and teachers developed “valuable connections” and “supportive relationships,” which might to be facilitated by principals who encourage the cultivation of these teacher-student bonds within school environments.

This says it All.
(support students who believe they are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning).
THERE is no questioning, You are a boy or girl end of story.
Even our newest supreme court justices, Ketanji Jackson, who is a women can’t even explain what a women is. All of these kids are being told, you’re not a boy your girl if you want to be. How stupid and ridicules is this, it’s madness.
Ketanji Jackson knows exactly what men and women are, but she refused to submit to a “gotcha” question about gender identity. Yes, trans women were born biologically male, but when confronted with gender dysphoria, many choose to live in congruence to the gender of the soul they feel inside. I understand how hard that is for you to grasp, but there’s no reason for people with gender dysphoria to live happily and authentically, adopting as best they can the appearance of the gender they feel they are.
Sorry for the mistake, I meant to say “There’s no reason for people with gender dysphoria NOT to live happily and authentically.”
Paul, you are hilarious. Everyone has the right to live happily. We live in the United States of America, it is what we do. However the funniest part is to state that transgenders live authentically. Their very existence is the antithesis of authentic. For them to label themselves as “trans” is the very definition of changing from one thing to another. Not authentic at all. Their existence is a flux, and their mentality is not stable.
When a male is born a male, their sex observed at birth is male and is recorded on their birth certificate as such. When a male poses and pretends to be a female, that goes against what their certificate of authenticity states.
Meaning to be trans is to not be authentic.
We can all play pretend. that is fine. There are 40 and 50 year olds playing in diapers, and grown ass adults pretending to be dogs, but none of that is authentic. It is make believe.
Also dysphoria is the polar opposite to euphoria. Meaning anything experiencing dysphoria is by definition, NOT HAPPY!
Definitions matter. Open a dictionary. Grow the hell up.
No one is pushing an agenda, but instead making resources available to those who endure discrimination.
I find it funny that you try so hard to convince everyone that you are oppressed. Have you ever tried just identifying as a human being, or is that too hard for you to comprehend? The oppression is not from anyone but yourselves. If you have to rely on expensive surgeries and endless medication, then your trans identity really isn’t you now is it? Can you even exist without intervention of some sort? If not, then what are you really? Identity-less?
Just be a person and stop trying to label yourselves into some victim status, protected class and maybe the rest of society would accept you. But oppressed? Really. Check your ego at the door.
Well said.
Agree. It is unhealthy entitlement and victimhood combined with identity dysfunction manifesting as gender confusion. Then the opportunists encourage it for the purpose of power and control. The foolish, those that ignorantly or blindly jump on the proverbial bandwagon, sadly help perpetuate the madness.
Did I say that I was trans or LBGT? No I didn’t. Did I say I was oppressed? Nope. But like most right wing bullies, you assumed I am. Believing claims without evidence gets you in trouble, like believing anything Trump said to get your vote for example. The rest of your rant is meaningless.
Well said, and I agree
The only folks pushing a hateful agenda are the authors and commenters of this local down home blog. What would Jesus do folks? He’d not care about genitalia so much and he’d express kindness. I’m highly disappointed in my fellow Christina conservatives for this…Think about it and pray on it
Homosexuality is a sin and it’s immoral. It always was and it always will be.
Strange how you can claim to know what someone would think who (may have) existed 2025 years ago about social issues we are having today. Do you think Jesus would have some thoughts about cell phones and modern technology too? Hmm, how could he? Those things didn’t exist back then!
I find it humorous that the ones who deny God are the first one to use God as a defense of the indefensible.
In the words of the Great Cuck Will Smith; Keep the name of Jesus out your *#%(#@) mouth!
Jesus was also not brainwashing children, sexually mutilating them, or telling them they could be a boy when they were a girl. He also warned about leading the little ones astray. So perhaps those in authority who want to push this sickness should take note that one day they are going to have to answer for teaching, promoting, and pushing such satanic sickness, whether they believe they free of such judgements or not.
There is an entire movement with an agenda to groom children into sexual perversion. Some become teachers for reason, to indoctrinate the next generation, just like they infiltrated Hollywood to pervert the entertainment industry.
Virtually no scientific evidence exists to support the idea of “transgenderism”, a condition listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders as Gender Identity Disorder up until the 5th version of that manual (2013), when editorial control of the section on that disorder was turned over to a trans activist group (WPATH). Until someone presents clear, solid scientific evidence, the condition is still a disorder.
Oh now you use science/evidence as a means to a valid answer? Huh how convenient! The evidence is right in front of you, there are like 1% of folks that are transgender living their lives (in fear of magas). Can’t you just live and let live in this cruel world? Why do you care about another persons genitals so much, it has literally no effect on your life? Amen praise be to the lord
I don’t care what you think stay away from my children and grandchildren pushing your agenda.
Great
WHILE THEY WERE DEVISING PLANS FOR GROOMING THE NAIVE YOUNG ONES, THEY SUCCEEDED AT COERCING OUR PFD AWAY FROM US TO FEED THEIR PERVERSE WHEEL OF MISFORTUNE!
Why would the schools be tasked with “supporting” kids in their choice of “gender?” Parents are the primary support system for kids. The school should have no role in that. Schools are for teaching, not indoctrinating, and certainly not providing mental health services. I doubt a single teacher is qualified as a psychiatrist, so isn’t that practicing medicine without a license? The entire issue belongs somewhere outside of school, that is for certain.
Same reason why religion has no place indoctrinating in schools. Amen
Just be kind to others, live and let live. You don’t have to have a transgender surgery just because they exist you know? I don’t know why my fellow republicans are so unwilling to accept ALL of our neighbors. WWJD? Amen
Sure Sean. Identify as an octopus if you wants. Just leave the children alone and pay for your own surgeries.
SEAN ,WHAT CHURCH DO YOU ATTEND?
Why do you ask which church I attend, does it matter? Are my viewpoints not bigoted and prejudice enough to fit into your typical judgmental chrisitan narrative? I’d rather not tell you in fear of my life.
Yes Sean. We know you and your kind always live in fear. That is all you know, and until you move past that, you will never be free of those “terrible right wing bogey men”.!
Bless your little heart.
