Alaska gubernatorial candidate Bernadette Wilson is tapping into nationally recognized political strategists in her bid to become Alaska’s next governor. On June 3, her campaign announced that it was adding seasoned politicos – Brad Herold and Ben Yoho to the team.
Both men are familiar with national political scene, bringing records of success on some of the most competitive Republican campaigns across the country.
“This level of national talent gives Bernadette a top tier team in Alaska politics,” said Wilson general consultant Paul Smith, adding that the duo recognizes that Alaska’s gubernatorial race has ramification at the national level.
Herold is a partner at the nationally recognized firm Something Else Strategies, and brings over a decade of experience running top-tier Republican campaigns, including Gov. Ron DeSantis’ upset 2018 victory in Florida, and President Trump’s 2016 ground game in Florida. His firm also has led media efforts for Sen. Marco Rubio (FL), Sen. Mike Lee (UT), Sen. Marsh Blackburn (TN), Gov. Brian Kemp (GA), Gov. Kim Reynolds (IA) and Gov. Kay Ivey (AL). Additionally, it has led more than a dozen other successful statewide campaigns.

Ben Yoho, Chairman and CEO of The Strategy Group Company, provides media and strategy for some of the biggest names in Republican politics, including President Trump’s Super PAC MAGA Inc. in the 2024 cycle. A former presidential campaign CEO and political tactician, Yoho brings deep experience in message delivery, targeting, and maximizing media impact. In addition to working to elect Trump, he has been a part of the successful campaigns for Rep. Nick Begich (AK), Sen. Bernie Moreno (OH), Sen. Jim Banks (IN) and Rep. Abraham Hamadeh (AZ)
There is expected to be a crowded field in Alaska’s gubernatorial race, given that Gov. Mike Dunleavy will be stepping down after two consecutive terms.
Wilson declared her candidacy last month. Other declared candidates include current Alaska Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom and Click Bishop, a former state senator from Fairbanks – both Republicans. Former U.S. Rep. Mary Peltola – a Democrat – is seen as another likely candidate to run for governor after losing her seat to Rep. Begich last November.

She has no originality of her own. I see her campaigning tactics mimicking Trump’s over and over again. Add to that she has skeletons in her closet and, from what I saw today, photo shoots that makes me what what she is running for? Model of the year or governor?
Sounds like jealousy to me.
Not jealousy. I just see the crowd that she sprouted from and her background. We keep getting the same crap over and over and over from our republican parties. Can’t say that her prior employers were/are any better.
I can’t help but picture in my mind that people who ooh and aahhh over Wilson are frogs jumping out of one boiling pot into another boiling pot.
RCV is going to ensure a rigged outcome. Who started the petition to get rid of RCV? Wilson was one of them. That is odd that she starts a petition to get rid of RCV and then, days later, she announces that she is running for governor-which has to use RCV to come up with the winner. She’ll get in as governor thanks to RCV (and Dahlstrom and Bishop) and in the same election, RCV will be voted out. Amazing how that works.
THIS IS NOT A SERIOUS CANDIDATE! I AM ! MY NAME IS DAVE MAXWELL. CANDIDATE FOR GOVERNOR IN MY STATE, ALASKA! VOTE FOR ME! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE!
Detractors will get no traction. Onward ho! She will be our candidate.
NOT A DETRACTOR! A SERIOUS CANDIDATE FOR GOVERNOR OF MY STATE ALASKA! GROOMED BY WHAT IVE SEEN AS A WHISTLE BLOWER! COURAGE AND WISDOM IS WHAT IVE GAINED AND OFFER! HAVE YOU NOT GOTTEN TIRED OF STUPID YET?
Are you serious?
These “people” (Patricia, Manny, Steve) are either bots or paid by the uni-party. They are showing up in all the chats about Wilson which is a good sign that she is not someone we want in office.
I bow down to you, my future sovereign, for your use of capitalization is like Trump
Completely, unlike you!
After two terms of Dunleavy and not standing tall for Alaska.
That Little fire ball Bernadette Wilson has my vote.
As for Mary she has no chance.
Jamie Allard For governor she’s awesome rb.gy/uvl61c
Really, Jamie, this State doesn’t need anymore hate.
Wow, do we really want another governor like Dunleavy. Dig into her past, running AFP and anti RCV.
And don’t forget her baby daddy Chris Tuck. She is Palin 2.0, Tshibaka, Karie Lake, and all the rest of the attractive sharp tongued women who somehow get on the ballot and become our only chance at salvation with literally no experience or plan.
I’m a Denali Refuse fan, red can. Don’t back the green.
SERIOUS CANDIDATES DONT SLEEP AND MAKE BABIES WITH THE ENEMY! BLURRED LINES IN THE BED SHEETS TRANSLATES INTO CROSSING OVER THE ISLE. RHINO RASH ON THE REAR END!
A VOTE FOR DAVE MAXWELL IS A STATEMENT, AND CONVICTION WILL FOLLOW!
OPINION: Restoring the 4 corners of AK’s sovereignty – education, health & welfare, energy, PFD… (not so)… Alaska’s Sovereignty (or Sovranty) rests in “We The People”, not in governmental departments before the People get there, and if one or some of the People err in office, they must be yanked from that office immediately by the other yet Sovrans (a valid, though archaic spelling). This system must be restored if Alaska is to be Lawful. (Living People, not FICTIONS!), abiding by The U.S. Constitution ot 1787/1791 according to Article VI (The Supremacy Clause). Read it.
Seems legit. Clairol just endorsed her.
Did her initiative to require parental permission for abortions prevail? I’m for government interference in private lives, because frankly it’s boring around here if we don’t know who’s knocked up.
