On Saturday, June 14, the Republican Party’s District 6 on the Kenai will host a vehicle convoy in honor of national Flag Day.

Participants are invited to meet at 2:30 p.m. at Paul Banks Elementary School (1340 East End Rd.) with their decorated vehicles.

Starting at 3 p.m., the parade of vehicles will roll to Homer Spit Road, where they will turn about and head to the VFW Post for a flag retirement ceremony.

The celebration of America and its flag, will contrast with an earlier protest – set for 11 a.m. the same day – in which hard leftist Homer residents are planning to stage an anti-Trump rally. This protest is meant to overshadow Flag Day in order to air a litany of partisan grievances against Trump related to immigration, abortion, government benefits and other leftist concerns.
