The world is focused on Alaska, where President Trump is scheduled to meet on Friday with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the end of the war in Ukraine.
Over the weekend, Gov. Mike Dunleavy said he welcomes the historic meeting.
“I welcome the upcoming meeting between President Donald J. Trump and Russia’s President Putin being held here in the great state of Alaska,” Dunleavy posted to his Facebook account. “Alaska is the most strategic location in the world, sitting at the crossroads of North America and Asia, with the Arctic to our north and the Pacific to our south. With a mere two miles separating Russia from Alaska, no other place plays a more vital role in our national defense, energy security, and Arctic leadership. What happens in the Arctic and the Pacific impacts Alaska before the rest of the country.”

Trump has not yet announced the exact location of the Alaska meeting, which could also include Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in what many are hoping will bring about an end to the ongoing war that has left hundreds of thousands dead.
“It’s fitting that discussions of global importance take place here,” Dunleavy added. “For centuries, Alaska has been a bridge between nations, and today, we remain a gateway for diplomacy, commerce, and security in one of the most critical regions on earth. The world will be watching, and Alaska stands ready to host this historic meeting.”

Putin needs to be arrested not welcomed. Trump should look out for the USA instead of Ukraine and Russia. This plan of Trump’s is a stab in the back to Ukraine, NATO and the EU. I don’t want the “thug” from Russia on the soil of the free state I live in.
Trump is looking out for USA. If Europe gets into this war. Yes those useless NATO countries, we might have to go to war also. I Don’t agree with this NATO Alliance. Did you know that these intergovernmental military alliance is between 32 member states, which 30 are in Europe and 2 in North America..
Who’s war are we fighting not ours ( USA )
THIS WILL BE WHEN DUNLEAVY LEARNS OF HIS NEW ROLE IN THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION!! CLEAN PUTINS LAUNDRY!!! CONGRATULATIONS DUNLEAVY, FINALLY A JOB YOU PROBABLY WONT FAIL AT!!!
It is my estimation that Putin will do a “no show” and send a lower level emmissary. With that act he essentially sends two messages: one being to humiliate President Trump on the world stage and the other to tell the world to pound sand. And he’s certainly not giving up the Crimea nor Donbas regions, which Trump has already reconciled to negotiate in exchange for ending the war in Ukraine.
