Alaska gubernatorial candidate Bernadette Wilson has announced that conservative State Senator Mike Shower will be her lieutenant governor running mate.

Mike Shower

Wilson made the announcement on Sept. 9, amid widespread speculation that Shower would join her ticket.

Shower has been among a block of conservative Republicans who have stood up against many of the policies pushed by the Democrat-led coalition that currently controls both houses of the Alaska Legislature. In the last session, he served as Senate Minority Leader.

One of his passions is restoring and strengthening election integrity. If elected lieutenant governor, his primary task will be to oversee state elections, a job he is itching to tackle.

“Election reform, I’m that guy,” Shower said moments after announcing his candidacy. “I will make sure our election system is as tight as we can get it.”

For years, Shower has attempted to pass legislation to strengthen election integrity by establishing chain-of-custody protocols to track all mail-in and absentee ballots, clean Alaska’s bloated voter rolls and do away with automatic-voter registration for everyone who files for a Permanent Fund Dividend.

“Senator Mike Shower is a respected conservative legislator, and Air Force Veteran with 24 years of service and a leader for election integrity,” Wilson said of her new running mate. “I am honored that Mike has joined me in this fight!”

Shower is a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and former fighter pilot. He has served in the State Senate since 2018, representing the Wasilla area of the Mat-Su.

WE ARE FAR TOO COMPROMISED TO CONTINUE STAYING IN THE ” STRATIGIC” EXPEDIENT LANE! LEADERS TODAY MUST BE WILLING TO TAKE UP THEIR CROSS AND OBEDIENTLY FOLLOW JESUS! NOT JUST CONVIENIENTLY MENTION HIS NAME WHEN IT SERVES THEIR INTEREST! YOUR MOST RECENT EXAMPLE IS CHARLIE KIRK. MURDERED FOR TELLING THE TRUTH!!! THIS IS OUR NEW REALITY!!!

Amen, now if we can all get behind them. Remember we still have ranked choice voting for this election.
And Yes it’s will be on the ballot again. Please vote to stop this ranked choice voting system, from ever being used again.

I wish Shower was in the governor slot. He’s much more qualified with a real history.

Does not bode well for a Shelly Hughes bid for Governor, now the valley conservative block will be split or greatly reduced. Time for her to drop out

Governor Dunleavy still has power as Sheriff of ALaska to remove the unlawful ranked choice voting which is not one person one vote. The judge that allowed this was breaking the law. It needs to be removed so that we can have the lawful one person, one vote. Alaska and the US have turned out backs on God and have become lawless. Please pray for a healing of our nation. The governor also can stop abortion, overturn the “obstructionist” judge(s who claim that abortion is a protected by privacy or any other excuse the corrupt judiciary gives for protecting murder in the womb.
