While local Alaska elections may not generate the frenzied media coverage of national contests, cultural leftists across the state aim to use a host of local races this October to gain or solidify control of borough assemblies, city councils and school boards. The stated goals are to promote climate alarmism, LGBTQ dogma, abortion on demand, explicit sex education, anti-immigration enforcement, pro-DEI initiatives and the dismantling of fossil fuels.

Some of these candidates aim to discourage private property ownership, slow the growing homeschool movement and clamp down on residents who share unwanted conservative viewpoints.

Despite the conservative wave in national politics, well-connected political groups that represent Alaska’s abortion lobby, LGBTQ agenda and climate alarmism have issued voting guides and calls to action in order to foster a blue wave on the local front.

These groups are particularly focused on Fairbanks, but Juneau and the Mat-Su are also part of the strategy.

Planned Parenthood, Alaska’s largest abortion company, has issued endorsements for Fairbanks and Juneau candidates whom it believes will help promote abortion on demand, transgender ideology and controversial sex education in local schools.

— Fairbanks City Mayor: Mindy O’Neall

— Fairbanks City Council Seat D: Crystal Tidwell

— Fairbanks Borough Assembly Seat C: Garrett Armstrong

— Fairbanks Borough Assembly Seat I: Patrick Roach

— Juneau Assembly District 1: Greg Smith

— Juneau Assembly At Large Ella Adkinson

The Alaska Center is catch-all organization that advocates for a whole host of leftist causes including extreme opposition to fossil fuels and a transition to so-called “green energy.” The group consistently backs hard-left candidates in local, state and national elections, and helps to sponsor controversial social causes such as LGBTQ Pride events.

Additionally, Mat-Su Democrats are working to gain a stronger foothold in one of the state’s most conservative regions.

One of the most comprehensive left-wing candidate surveys was published by the Fireweed Collective. It is one of the most radical groups when it comes to LGBTQ initiatives, climate activism, opposing immigration enforcement, increasing government spending on failing public schools, and phasing out traditional prisons and sentencing protocols.

Didn’t Trump just win the election by a mile? Why are we still having to deal with these leftists in our state?!! Why are they doubling down on evil? I am so sick of these demons. Please go elsewhere, perhaps the middle east? I’m sure they will be very accepting of your ideas.

Well I have been a Christian conservative Republican my entire adult life, registering to vote as a Republican the day I turned 18 in 1978. The Matsu borough assembly has done a great job overall in recent years and has been overwhelmingly conservative in their actions. I have no idea if Stephanie Nowers is truly a registered Democrat but her actions on the assembly have been effective and responsible and mostly supportive of the conservative activity on the assembly. She is not my assembly rep but she has been involved with committees I am involved with and I would never guess her to have any left leaning tendencies at all. She behaves very fiscally conscientious and works hours way beyond what would be expected of an assembly member. It was Stephanie Nowers who proposed putting the excise tax issue on the ballot for the public to weigh in. She was not comfortable passing it with out strong public input. Her very conservative district has elected her twice. As for Michele Heun, although I actually know her a bit personally and she is another person I would also be surprised if she is actually a registered Democrat, I suppose I will ask her! 🙂

Ask these candidates if they support these topics, if they say yes.
Just turn around and walk away from this evil, do not vote for them.
