Pro-life advocates in Fairbanks are preparing for their annual Life Chain rally, which is set for Saturday, Oct. 4, from 12-1 p.m., at the intersection of Peger and Airport Road.

Since 1987, Life Chain has been a nationwide peaceful and prayerful sign waving event, with the aim of ending all abortions and bringing healing to families who have suffered from abortion. It always occurs on the first weekend in October.
“Abortion or infanticide is the #1 killer of the human race, and the abortion and day-after pills have dramatically increased even those numbers,” an email about the Fairbanks event states. “It’s absolutely essential that we speak out and pray in faith and boldness, in love and mercy, to end every single abortion. Every life is a true miracle. Every person has a purpose. Parenthood is a beautiful gift from God which should be cherished and protected.”
Those interested in holding signs and praying are invited to park at Pioneer Park. Restrooms can be used at Sacred Heart Church.

As a young man in the early 80s I always agreed with the Pro Abortion crowd that it is a woman’s right. But as I grew in age and the birth of my own children and even since the birth of my first Grandchild after a miscarriage of my daughters first pregnancy I came to the complete realization that every life is by the grace of God and should be protected at all cost. It is therefore that I stand firmly in the Pro Life crowd now and anyone that commits to abortion is in all aspect committing murder. I pray for the day that we end this abomination of abortion and return to the sanctity of LIFE.
I, too, am an avid supporter of Pro Life. My hope is that we become more proactive and less reactive. For example, I would venture to say that the majority of the women considering abortion may reconsider adoption. I think we need to incorporate adoption as a viable solution strategy to curb abortion. My prayer is that women find hope in experiencing a fullness of life and life forevermore for themselves and the precious souls in their wombs.
