The Alaska Division of Public Health Section of Epidemiology (SOE) weighed in on the newest CDC guidelines for Covid precautions and use of Covid jabs.
The new federal CDC guidelines were pretty forward. The jab is no longer recommended for healthy children and adults, but only for those with increased risk factors. If you want one, you should have a discussion with your healthcare provider to determine the best course of action for you.
On Oct. 6, Acting CDC Director Jim O’Neill stated, “Informed consent is back. CDC’s 2022 blanket recommendation for perpetual COVID-19 boosters deterred health care providers from talking about the risks and benefits of vaccination for the individual patient or parent. That changes today.”
The State of Alaska’s SOE stated those recommendations in its Sept. 23 Covid Update Bulletin.
However, prior to making recommendations for Alaskans, the SOE chose to quote various medical organizations that give different recommendations than those coming from the CDC. Those included:
The American Academy of Family Physicians recommends all children aged ≥6 months, adults, and pregnant women receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends one dose of 2025–2026 COVID-19 vaccine for all infants aged 6–23 months and older children with high-risk conditions, and a second dose for moderately or severely immunosuppressed children.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommend one dose of 2025–2026 COVID-19 vaccine for pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women and those contemplating pregnancy.
If you follow the money, the above recommendations by these organizations are not surprising.
In 2023, the AAP took in $35 million from taxpayers to promote vaccines and to heavily police so-called “misinformation” – not counting the additional funding that came from Big Pharma.
ACOG took $11 million from CDC to push the jab.
All these groups received money from Big Pharma.
Once these recommendations were added to the dialog, the Alaska’s SOE then issued its own recommendation that healthcare providers should recommend COVID-19 vaccination for all eligible patients aged ≥6 months, especially considering those who are at increased risk for severe COVID-19 infection.
Nowhere in the state’s recommendation do I see the CDC requirement that this be an individual-based decision-making shared between the individual and the healthcare provider. Yet, that was the essence of the CDC recommendation. Alaska’s SOE recommendation sounds more like a blanket recommendation, although not specifically stated.
The intent of the CDC is to stop automatic Covid jab recommendations. It removed that recommendation for healthy children, pregnant women and those 64 and under from getting the jab.
Evidently, some medical organizations believe they know better than the CDC – and Alaska just joined with them in those claims.
Another recommendation made by Alaska’s SOE related to healthcare professionals in their workplace stated that healthcare facility personnel caring for patients at high risk for COVID-19 complications should encourage COVID-19 vaccination for staff with patient contact. So, I guess it’s okay for healthcare professionals NOT to get the jab. Granted they will have on an N-95 mask and eye goggles with known Covid patients, but what about the unknown Covid patient in their care? Why should the recommendation for them be different?
So how bad is Covid in Alaska? Below is the graph from the state’s web page.
There is a slight increase with new variants going around, but nothing compared to the Covid years. Plus, the exact number of cases is hard to determine, as people do not routinely get Covid tests anymore.
Instead, the state uses Syndromic surveillance to track COVID-like illnesses from pooled emergency room data. If you show up in the emergency room with fever (≥100°F) with cough or shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, you get added to the numbers.
Despite how the Alaska SOE couches it, the decision to get the jab must be an individual choice – based on your personal risk factors.
With winter right around the corner, the State Public Health Department would be better off telling Alaskans to start taking Vitamin D3 if you aren’t already doing so. Vitamin D is an important nutrient your body needs to keep your immunity system up and running. Sunlight is the main source – your skin absorbs the sun’s ultraviolet rays and turns them into vitamin D.
And we all know that Alaskans don’t get much sun in the winter.
“Those low levels of vitamin D may raise your risk of severe COVID-19 if infected.”

Get used to change in facts on the Covid by all health persons. Testimony by the Doctor that managed the board from CDC lied to make changes and created misunderstandings thru the USA. She was fired by Sec. RFKjr and is undergoing committee questioning so she may be indicted by a grand jury in the future. Hope Fouci can be put in the same [position. Don’t take anything as truth from this state or the feds on the issue of Covid and their materials till the problem is resolved.

I did not get vaxxed because what I was hearing from the media sounded something like nazi party propaganda. I did come down with the wuhan virus. I was jacked up for 2 days. Like a hangover. Balance out of wack, not hungry, mild head ache. After that, it was gone. I have no plans on getting any vaccinations anytime soon. My trust went to zero when traditional vaccinations went to the “new and improved” mRNA class of medications. Medical professionals- we trusted you to do the right thing. You LIED to us. That trust is going to be very hard to rebuild.
