Partisan leftists across Alaska and around the country will be holding another “No Kings” rally on Saturday, Oct. 18. This will include protests scheduled for both Soldotna and Homer. These individuals believe they are standing up to tyranny and defending democracy. All they are really doing is showing their displeasure with President Trump’s policies and inadvertently inciting political violence.
Local lefties will be protesting at their usual spot at the intersection of Lake Street and the Homer Bypass near McDonald’s. Afterwards, like their fellow travelers in Soldotna, they will be holding a town hall at the local KPC campus.
The organizers of this town hall are hypocrites because of the themes of tomorrow’s protest. They claim to be standing up for free speech and for the separation of Church and State. This is the same argument made by four local newspaper reporters recently. One of the reporters had written a slanderous article about Charlie Kirk’s assassination, which didn’t conform to journalistic standards. After her article was edited, she indignantly quit her job. Evidently, lefties can’t handle criticism when their biases are pointed out to them. I am sure this will be one of the discussion topics at the local town halls. However, the same individuals now defending free speech were totally silent when the Biden administration actually censored conservatives.
Members of his administration asked social media platforms like Google and Facebook to silence conservative voices because what they were saying went against Joe Biden’s policies. This was an overt example of government censorship, yet you never saw articles in the local papers or street protests defending the free speech rights of conservatives. It is only when left-wing individuals are asked to tone down their biased rhetoric do they suddenly discover the Constitution. This is the very definition of hypocrisy.
Another aspect of these protests is their incitement to violence against conservatives. Organizers have been very careful to remind participants not to have inflammatory signs, but ever since President Trump’s election, Democrats have put out a constant drumbeat calling him a Nazi and calling his policies evil. These protests continue along with that theme, which is inflammatory and, by implication, calls for political violence against conservatives who do not agree with them.
You can only call someone a Nazi for so long, until some nut case believes it and decides to do something about it. Charlie Kirk’s assassin may have been inspired to kill Charlie because of the way his political views were presented by the left-wing media. The “No Kings” rallies include the same Nazi messaging with a new coat of paint on it.
Yes, the Democrats have the right to organize street protests, but with any freedom comes responsibility. We can’t shout “fire” in a crowded theater when there isn’t one. An individual may have a license to drive a car, but they can’t speed through a school zone. There are restrictions on our freedoms. The protestors sponsoring and participating in the “No Kings” rallies have a right to freedom of speech. However, they should be very careful in how they present their message. They cannot be permitted to incite more violence against conservatives, and they are walking very close to that line.
If you support President Trump and disagree with the organizers of the “No Kings” rally, I encourage you to drop by the local town hall meeting after the street protest. The lefties will be meeting at the Kenai Peninsula College, starting at 2:30 p.m. I will be attending to get a conservative voice in the room and hope to see more conservative Christians there as well. We also have a right to speak freely, and I intend to do so. It should be interesting. I hope to see you there.

Yes they are complete hypocrites. It is ‘no kings’ except their king – Big brother government making all the decisions and dispensing the entitlements. Freedom of speech is only for their speech. Silencing of any opposition to that is acceptable in their minds. Conservatives have done nothing to silence the lefties, nor have we incited any violence toward them. We, instead, are fighting for all free speech, and revealing a seemingly unending list of illegal actions by the left, most all focused on Trump and fueled by their illogical hatred of him. It is sad the downward spiral of the Democrat party as it has been hijacked by completely deluded Marxism and anarchy.

Socialism is simply communism, but with a smiley face tacked onto it. With communism, the former soviet union is littered with unmarked mass graves, filled with those that were deemed “enemies of the state”.

Fascism is characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived interest of the nation or race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy. This is a perfect description of the Trump Administration. If you object to the title “King Trump,” perhaps “Generalisimo Trump” is more accurate.
Fascism and National Socialism (or any other socialism) are both descendants of Marxism. All three are about an all-powerful state where there is no God above the state and therefore the state is god. Everything and everyone is subordinate to the state. The mechanisms may differ, but the end result is the denigration of religion, family, personal property, personal freedom, individuality, and personal responsibility. All three always end in misery, nihilism, failure, and death.
Between the modern Republicans, Democrats, and Libertarians, only the Democrats push for an ever-expanding and more powerful state. It is the democrats (and sometimes Libertarians) who push for the removal of religion, family, and personal responsibility. The only new twist is that today’s Marxist left replaced Globalism for Nationalism and identity politics for social class.
