An aging but fervent cohort of Alaska leftists lined Alaska sidewalks and staged demonstrations in local parks on Oct. 18.

The protests were part of the nationally organized “No Kings” movement, which banket emails activists across the country to hold periodic protests of all things Trump.

No kings protesters line the Parks Highway in Wasilla on Oct. 18.

As with recent demonstrations earlier this year, the signs and sloganeering on Oct. 18 railed against Trump’s efforts to enforce immigration laws, his cuts to leftwing liberal nonprofits and his orders to investigate groups that foster, promote or engage in domestic terrorism.

No Kings protesters gather in Juneau.

There were also plenty of rainbow and transgender flags, as well as pro-abortion signage.

While historic leftwing protests have entailed mostly college age young adults, the recent Alaska protests have included a notable number of older demonstrators utilizing wheelchairs and walkers.

According to the No Kings website, demonstrations occurred in Ketchikan, Dillingham, Juneau, Gustavus, Petersburg, Fairbanks, North Pole, Kotzebue, Homer, Girdwood, Wasilla, Anchorage, Seward, Valdez, Sitka, Haines, and Kodiak.

Pre-made posters were handed out to protesters in Anchorage.

They are probably paid and organized by the illusive shadowy figures.
They are out there pursuing these protests while those who actually work and keep the country running are clocked in building things and providing useful services.

  • David Jones says:

Fantastic news! Where? I’d love to join them peacefully protesting the illegal actions of this shameful, convicted felon and his corrupt toadies. Joel Davidson, you’re standing on the wrong side of the fence with this issue.

    • OK in Anchorage says:

Which issue? It’s difficult to discern what any of “the aging but fervent” are gathering to protest. These geriatric No Kings assemblies look like a hodge podge of confused elder persons every time they clump up around each other with their angry-flavor-of-the-week signs in front of the old Sears Mall in Anchorage. They could strive for a tad of clarity and cohesion if they simply held up Orange Man Bad signs.

      • Here I. Am says:

Wow, making fun of the elderly. Where did we go wrong here. I was ALWAYS taught to respect my elders. Nope, guess not you, OK.

      • Elizabeth Henry says:

Probably could follow the money. Likely ‘supplement checks’ provided for those on fixed retirement incomes.. show up, hold a sign, scream what you are told to scream. As for lefty troll HIA – I am a senior. One with common sense who also studies issues and knows to steer clear of the dark path the left have chosen.

    • Herman Nelson says:

Yeah… Peaceful protests.. Right. /s I can get onboard with protesting corrupt employees like pelsi, AOC, schummer, chief “warren” and pretty most communists er- democrats. I’m confused to why you’re not upset about USAID and the 4.3 million used for hamster cage fighting.

      • Here I. Am says:

Um, yeah, I think you should get outside of social media and read some additional sources of information. I do like that you mention employees, because as a US citizen, that’s exactly what Trump is to me! An employee!

    • Theodore Lang says:

      yesss

    • Doug glenn says:

You’re a flake david. You keep on believing whatever it is you believe. In the end you loose. Your hate of America is telling.

    • shane holt says:

yea right. deporting illegals who are here illegally is somehow illegal.
      got it

      • Here I. Am says:

Shane, what if you were deported? if the answer is they can’t because I’m a US citizen,

      • Here I. Am says:

that’s the point. Get it? Some are not illegal. Maybe they just look different. READ.

      • Michael says:

HIA-please provide your source that tells you some are not illegal? You want sources, so do I.

  • Johnny says:

Leftist ideology seems to be working well for Anchorage.

  • steve says:

David your an anarchist with a serious case of TDS. I’ll bet you sleep with the great President Donald Trump at night in your dreams. Just think, you’ll never in your wildest wishes and dreams ever accomplish as much in your life as he has. Donald Trump is so much more superior of a man than you are. All you can do is complain and protest in a childish and annoying fashion. Have fun today, looser.

    • Herman Nelson says:

Yes.. Trump lives rent-free in “davids” head.

      • Here I. Am says:

Herman, based on previous posts, I’d say Biden lives “rent free” (notice where the quotes are) in your head! You got this!

    • Here I. Am says:

steve, your point loses impact when it is not framed with proper grammar. It makes the reader question your intelligence. I think you meant to say “you’re” and “loser”. Also, your comment sounds creepily like limerence. Just checking, you doing ok?

      • steve says:

Really, that’s all you have, my grammar? So, I didn’t proof read my written opinion, it was 12:02 am. Are you in disagreement with Trump’s achieved position verse David Jones, or are you here just to poke at grammar?

    • Here I. Am says:

No, steve, I think both your position AND grammar are flawed. BTW it’s now 6:33pm. “Verse” or “versus”. Have you been drinking, again? Why do you attack David because of his comments about trump?

  • Paul Hart says:

A couple of months ago I was watching C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal.” It’s a great, live political discussion program that takes calls from viewers all across the political spectrum. On that particular morning one Trump supporter called in and said (paraphrasing here), “People keep calling Trump a king. I actually don’t have a problem with that. I think he would make a GREAT king!” And I thought to myself, if ONE caller feels that way, there’s got to be more. It would seem that there are PLENTY of people who relish Trump’s brand of authoritarianism. I do not. It reeks of fascism. Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, and ultranationalist political ideology and movement that rose to prominence in early-20th-century Europe. Fascism is characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived interest of the nation or race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy. This is a perfect description of the Trump Administration. If you object to the title “King Trump,” perhaps “Generalisimo Trump” is more accurate.

    • steve says:

Paul, the left side of our political government are the fascist and racist. Who fought in the Civil War to retain slavery; Democrats. Who fought against the Equal Rights Amendment; Democrats. Who thinks black aren’t capable of producing a I.D. to vote; Democrats. Who wants to force everyone to jump on the Global Warming hoax; Democrats. Who wants to mandate how much water my shower will output; Democrats. Who wants to take my 2nd Amendment away; Democrats. Should I go on, or have I made my point? Will you ever see the light?

      • Here I. Am says:

Again, steve, you are highlighting your questionable knowledge of grammar and, now, history. This is not the place in which you use a semi-colon. Additionally, the recent Democratic Party fought for expanding the ERA and believe that limiting access unnecessarily is counter to democracy (all people have a voice in governance). You are right on your last three points. They do desire to save the environment, limit how much water you shower will output and limit the TYPE of gun that is accessible. BTW, how much water do you need to take a shower???

      • Here I. Am says:

Again, steve, c’mon! Read some history to understand the Democratic Party. Light is only seen by those who open there eyes.

      • Here I. Am says:

steve, a quick question. Would you be OK if this website censored my comments?

      • Danny says:

Here I.AM ….. “…. limit the Type of gun ….”
If you eliminated all “assault” weapons C kirk would still be gone
He was shot w/ grandpa’s hunting rifle.

      • M.John says:

HIA, the term is semicolon, not “semi-colon”. That is to say, this is not the place in which you use a hyphen.

      • Here I. Am says:

Love it M! You are absolutely correct! Nice job pointing that out. Keep going, brother.

  • Manny Mullen says:

Big crowd in Seward today -172. Lots of 20-30 year olds but also educated older folks. 100% peaceful and fun, lots of American and Alaskan flags. Most passing cars waved or honked. No one was paid, no aggression among the mostly locals. All the signs targeted the hundreds of attacks on peace, the military, science, good government, the Golden Rule and honesty from Trump, Noem,Voldemort and the closeted Secretary of Defense. My favorite sign: Reign Reign Go Away. You conservatives and your proud hypocrisy are no match for peace, the First Amendment and integrity.

    • shane holt says:

and how do you know no one was paid?
      you dont.
      fact.

    • Alaskanyuk says:

Manny Mullen. Did you bring your mirror along to show them how similar their smile is to yours?

    • steve says:

So, why has the Supreme Court agreed with the President, if what he is doing is illegal? Speaking of First Amendment, you are aware that the Biden administration shut down free speech on Twitter during his administration, aren’t you?

  • Jon and Ruth Ewig says:

We have had three terms of “King Obama” who was planning on a fourth term, using Kamala or Michelle. King Obama was a disaster as king because he hated America and as a Marxist hated capitalism, God, the family and the church. We are going back to what worked for decades. The original US Constitution, Rule of Law, Bill of Rights, and Equal justice for all,

    • Here I. Am says:

Jon and Ruth, I think you are wrong and scared. Look at the images of the rallies.

      • shane holt says:

i got video of the clown show. disgusting language on kids signs, old ladies blowing bubbles like 5 yo olds, women screaming every time some lunatic honked their horn , when was the last time you saw maga people looking so utterly stupid like that.
or the riots, another specialty of left wing agitators.

      • Here I. Am says:

So, Shane, what I hear you saying is you are mad that people were having fun AND…

      • Here I. Am says:

loving their country. Got it! You know, you were invited too. You should have come.

      • Elizabeth Henry says:

you mean all of the phony aerial shots posted all over and from past events, as far back as the 1940’s. Add also, the one posted that was a Queen concert with Freddy Mercury in the foreground. Freddy was at the No Kings rally! Did you know! Good grief. The Gaslighting is over the top from the left.

    • Here I. Am says:

These people don’t hate America, they love it. And they don’t like the current path.

Liz, I don’t think that’s true. Can you point me in the direction of your source?

      • Here I. Am says:

Liz, you never showed proof. Do you have a picture, a link, a FB page. The last one is in next.

    • Here I. Am says:

See my other posts. trump (intentionally lower-case out of disrespect) doesn’t follow the Constitution.

  • Here I. Am says:

Joel, you are slipping. I’ve been here all along and always will be… Plus, don’t have AI write your articles, they miss grammatical things.

    • steve says:

What’s with you and poking at grammar?

      • Here I. Am says:

Because that is how we know we are serious. Because it is less about emotion and more about intentionality. Also, Joel should know better and do better because he is speaking to a large community.

      • Danny says:

The “resistance” is made up of a very high % of teachers.
And you know how they are w/ their “red pen” and correct sentence structure.

      • Here I. Am says:

Danny, I am only a teacher in life things, but thanks for the compliment!

      • Here I. Am says:

Danny, teachers = bad? These are the folks that educate our next generation.

      • Here I. Am says:

I’m not usually one to be too blunt (LOL), but your comment, sir, is ignorant.

      • Here I. Am says:

Steve, 0 grammatical errors in the US Constitution.

    • Here I. Am says:

If he doesn’t proof his message, does he research his claims? OR is it all just emotional speech vomit?

      • steve says:

If all you can do is poke at grammar and spew leftist ideas then you’re really living in a small box. Let’s hear you come up with some resolutions to the problems our President is trying to solve. Build, don’t destroy.

  • Here I. Am says:

The protests are part of the nationally organized “No Kings” movement, which banket emails activists across the country to hold periodic protests of all things Trump.

    • Here I. Am says:

“banket” – not sure what that is. Joel, do you really write this stuff?

      • steve says:

Again with the grammar issue. After awhile no one is going to take you serious. I understood his point, and I also understand that you probably can’t think outside your box.

      • steve says:

Again with the grammar issue. After awhile no one is going to take you seriously. I understood his point, and I also understand that you probably can’t think outside your box.

  • Here I. Am says:

That sound strangely hypocritical. Tell me how you know anything about me? AND, I think people will read my comments and take me seriously. Just ask Joel when he banned my last account.

  • Davesmaxwell says:

sounds like the bricks landed on a few heads of the above post it boys!

    • Here I. Am says:

🙂 just call me Robin Hood.

    • Here I. Am says:

OR, maybe Truth to Power. I like that one.

    • Elizabeth Henry says:

I don’t think bricks caused the delusion. It started before the bricks. They actually want a king, and their king – big bloated government, is being dethroned by our current president. They are terrified they may loose their free healthcare, government subsidies, housing, food, and future potential leftist votes from the millions here illegally. Given more than half of our citizenry is now dependent upon governement in some way, the mindset makes sense.

    • Here I. Am says:

I’m happy that you were able to avoid the and bring down the temperature.

  • Jon and Ruth Ewig says:

We have had “King” Obama for three terms, the third being in Biden’s name. King Obama hid America’s patriottic History. He disregarded Our Constitution, Rule of Law, Bill of Rights, Ten Commandments which made up our criminal code, King Obama gave us a bad taste for his kind of rule..

We need to be governed by our US Constitution with the Bill of Rights and equal justice under the law. We need judges who adjudicate under the original Constitution and not personal bias. We need Congressmen and Senators who have integrity and character and tell the truth..

Our President and his cabinet have the courage to Make America Great Again! Keep going!!!

    • Rebekah Kaur says:

      You have Obama Derangement Syndrome.

      • Danny says:

Which is not covered under Obama care.

      • Micah says:

You are among the worst of us. Either demonically possessed or mentally ill.

      • Elizabeth Henry says:

That is justified. Let’s see, do you have health insurance? Do you pay for it yourself or does your employer, or is it subsidized or simply provided by the government – ie medicaid? Millions of working Americans across our country cannot afford health insurance thanks to Obama. I am one of them. That is just an iceberg tip. The expansion of government assistance began with Obama and ramped up under the puppet regime Biden. Government will not save you. The burden we are under now is unsustainable. I won’t add here all the corruption and lawfare that went on as well. I pray it is all exposed, and that our unwieldy government size and spending can be reined in.

    • CD says:

Agree, Jon and Ruth. Former Texas legislator and attorney, Rick Green and now founder of Patriot Academy is who I follow to see if Trump is staying under the law.

  • Herman Nelson says:

    Here I. Am-
“Wow, making fun of the elderly. Where did we go wrong here. I was ALWAYS taught to respect my elders. Nope, guess not you, OK.”
Well… When you’re still butt-hurt over Kent State, Watergate and Vietnam, it tells me everything I need to know- aging communists going the way of biden: dementia. My respect goes to those that were knee-deep in the rice paddies, hunting communists like yourself.
No, Biden was a sad disappointment of elder abuse. I just crossed the days off until he was out of the white house.

    • Here I. Am says:

Herman, you know nothing about me, but I will let you in on a little secret… I served and I’m not a communist (just a seeker of truth).

      • Herman Nelson says:

Ah… But I’ve been warned of people like you. My friend Jake dealt with people like yourself as a young boy. He has lots to say of the evil people of your ilk created. Served..? Peace corp…? LOL nice try. Your sentence structure and idioms remind me of another troll from another site who was booted off.

      • Here I. Am says:

My friend Jake warned me about you too. And your use of the work ilk.

      • Here I. Am says:

It would’ve been an honor to serve in the selfless work of the Peace Corp, but…

      • Here I. Am says:

alas it was not the Peace Corp. Nor prison, which would have been another good guess.

      • Here I. Am says:

I’ll just leave it there. I hope the other “troll” got some got hobbitses. 🙂

  • Micah says:

Look at the disgusting leftists in this comment section. Do you think we can live with these people? We are all marking time until we do what needs to be done. We don’t want to do it but they will not negotiate. They will not compromise. And they will not stop. They want you dead and your children. Tick. Tick. Tick.

    • Rebekah Kaur says:

“iT iS tHe LeFt tHaT is VIOlEnT.”
I have reported your comment to the FBI.

    • Reggie Taylor says:

Unfortunately, you appear to be correct. This society appears to be on a collision course with disaster. It’s my strong opinion that those on the Left who are driving this have little understanding of the incredible suffering that a civil war brings. There will be no escaping it, even for more rural Alaskans. Those of you who are Catholic had better brush up on the virtues of offering your suffering up to God, because we will all get a very full plate of it.

      • Micah says:

War is horrible. As Hemingway wrote, “in modern war, there is nothing sweet nor fitting in your dying. You will die like a dog for no good reason.” But the left has made clear there will be no other way. It breaks my heart. I pray every day for God to make another way other then war.

    • Here I. Am says:

Micah, I can assure you that 99.99% of these leftists don’t want you dead. They care for others.

  • Here I. Am says:

Micah, you are beholden to a belief that is a myth. How can you NOT live with these people?

  • Here I. Am says:

Micah, so, let me understand, you only want to live with people who feel the same as you?

  • Here I. Am says:

What a boring, uninteresting life to live. Don’t leave your house, brother.

  • Here I. Am says:

Because once you do… people will have different beliefs.

  • Here I. Am says:

As a true patriot, you should be supporting these actions of the rallies.

  • Here I. Am says:

I mean that is what our country is founded on, right? Expression of beliefs.

  • Here I. Am says:

Your message, however, invokes violence to those who believe differently than you.

  • Here I. Am says:

See the difference? I welcome your comments, if you are bold enough to speak rationally.

  • Micah says:

No one will wishes to engage with the demonically possessed and / or the mentally ill.

If the former may God move on you, if the latter get help. Your weary family will give thanks.

    • Here I. Am says:

Micah, do you always think that those that disagree with you are possessed or ill?

      • Reggie Taylor says:

Your unhinged possession of the comments illustrates the possession that something has of your mind. It’s like the two talking heads on TV trying to talk over one another. There’s no exchange of ideas or information. It’s just noise, and pretty strange noises at that.

      • Here I. Am says:

Let’s exchange ideas, Reggie, and see who balks first. I’m betting it is not me…

      • M.John says:

HIA, let’s exchange information. Where can I find a left/liberal Alaska news site that allows Conservatives to post comments openly. Please don’t balk, I need the information right away.

      • Here I. Am says:

I answered your previous post M. Go to NPR, that’s leftist, right? CNN? MSNBC?

      • Here I. Am says:

Haha can you imagine if these protestors actually came together and did something productive? We may actually see clean streets and parks!

Why is it humans can so easily feed negative energy like this but when it comes to actually doing service for the community, it is like pulling teeth?

Like look at all the homeless and criminals. They are many. If they put their heads together they could make things work put better for each others benefit, but instead they list around aimlessly as loners and get nothing done.

    Humans are such interesting creatures.

    • Here I. Am says:

Mag – Let me pose a question to you. If those who promoted and strived for the life of the unborn “child” (debatable), why don’t they do more for them? Adopt more, pay more for their care, is that like pulling teeth? If these Christian-National groups pooled together their money, they could actually have the life of some of these kids. BUT, they won’t. You know why? Because it is easier to pass blame. We call that hypocrisy.

      • Michael says:

Like Soros and all those other billionaires and millionaires? If they pooled all their money, they could actually directly support those groups they proclaim need help. Such as, illegals…Now HIA, I am really going to melt your mind-You sound like the kind of person that, (here’s the melting part), irregardless of the proof given to you, you would still not believe it.
