The Alaska Republican Party has forwarded three potential candidates to fill the legislative seat vacated by State Sen. Mike Shower (R-Wasilla), who recently stepped down to campaign for the lieutenant governor’s spot.
After a recent joint meeting of Republican Districts 29 and 30, three candidates rose to the top – State Representatives George Rauscher and Kevin McCabe, along with Mr. Ryan Sheldon.
These men earned the most committee votes with Rauscher and McCabe getting 33 apiece and Sheldon taking third with 24 votes.

Sheldon is extremely active in GOP politics, serving as a district party chairman and working to advance Republican policies. He’s a fourth generation Alaskan.
As laid out in state law, the GOP districts served by Senate District O have the right to forward three names to the governor to replace a retiring Republican lawmaker.
Dunleavy now has 30 days to forward his top choice to Senate Republicans for confirmation.

With the leadership the Alaska GOP has today, we will never get names turned in that actually do the work and can move in the conservative direction this state should have from the conservative base. These three are poor players and really dumb followers without a spine.

If these three are the cream of the crop, what does that say about residents of districts 29 and 30.
