In an effort to highlight and pray for God-fearing candidates in Anchorage’s upcoming April election, Alaska Family Action is hosting a candidate forum on March 20 at the Petroleum Club.

“At this luncheon forum, we’ll be, first and foremost, praying for our endorsed Assembly candidates who will be in attendance,” Alaska Family Action’s Jim Minnery explained. “We will also facilitate a discussion about how Biblical truth matters in Municipal decisions (yes…even regarding taxes, regulations and homelessness) and we’ll have a ‘speed dating’ style Q&A session with candidates going from table to table to get to know people better.”

The forum comes on the heels of Alaska Family Action publishing its new Value Voters Guide, in which all Anchorage candidates for Assembly and School Board were asked to weigh in on a whole host of critical topics dealing with faith, freedom, traditional family values and pro-life issues.

Titled “Seeking the Welfare of Our City,” the forum runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Click here to register.

Speed dating the candidates! What a fun idea! I do hope it is well attended. I am forwarding to our Anchorage family and friends!

I am running to replace Felix Rivera on the Anchorage Assembly in Midtown Anchorage and am currently on the Anchorage School Board. Four times a year the Anchorage Assembly and School Board meet together. The next such meeting overlaps this event so I may be delayed arriving at it. My website is donleyforalaska.com.

Will be interesting to see how they define Biblical Truth. Perhaps we should all have a crack at the questions??

  • Ivan says:

You’re praying only for endorsed Assembly candidates? Not for all of God’s children?

We are all created in God’s image. But not all of us is in the family of God or God’s children. You are in the family when you receive His gift of salvation on Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and you follow Him.
*And going to a church never made anyone a Christian or God’s children.

Nothing fails as reliably as prayer.
