Over the past few weeks, we have seen thousands of flights cancelled, store shelves emptied and millions of businesses struggling to maintain adequate manpower to stay afloat. Some of this is undoubtedly due to massive federal payouts that disincentivize Americans from returning to the workforce, but something else is also afoot.
Millions of highly qualified teachers, doctors, technicians, pilots, truck drivers and many other professionals are simply refusing to be injected with a COVID shot which entails risk of serious illness and, in tens of thousands of documented cases, even death.
It turns out, that if forced to choose between their job and their health, many Americans will opt for the latter. As a result, the nation is entering an unprecedented collapse of the workforce.

It won’t be easy, or even without consequences, but it’s time for companies to stand with employees and simply refuse to force hard working men and women to choose between their livelihoods and the jab.
For some companies, this may mean losing contracts and restructuring business models to protect the fundamental right of employees to determine their own healthcare.
There is evidence, however, that by standing up to unjust mandates, businesses will find people flocking to support them – both employees and customers.

Anybody notice they only force the jab on working people? Why is congress exempt? Why isn’t anybody who’s on government assistance, Welfare, food stamps, unemployment, etc. required to get the jab before they can collect government hand outs? Why are illegal immigrants turned loose in the U.S.A not forced to get the jab? That is all you need to know about the vaccine Dr. Puppet. Government has to make sure the working people are able fund their cause.
Mandates accomplish virtually nothing. Vaccinated employees will randomly still get Covid, can still spread Covid, still have to quarantine the same amount of time when they get Covid. They may indeed have a less severe case hence not clogging our hospitals and thar is worthy, but for most employers there is very little reason to mandate. It is all senseless, knee jerk reacting. And mindless. Hence, whom are the blindly following sheep?
I work for one of the utilities in south central, and when this all started and they sent us home to keep us safe I asked who’s gonna pay for all this. Someone from HR said it’s covered by the government. I had a sinking feeling in my stomach. Because at that point they wouldn’t be able to say no!
I just want one CEO in south central from a utility to say you want to takeaway our workers rights and force them to do this then No gas or electricity or phones.
If you fire someone for medical freedom then do it without any of the things that this free country offers.

When there is no one to fix the servers in the wire centers, the e911 system, internet on the bases, telephone and internet across the state beginning Dec 9– maybe then people will stop complaining and actually stand with these workers. CEOs of large companies get to that position because they are smart. They believe in science and respect the opinion of doctors. They are doing the right thing. This is a free country and you have the right to not take the vaccine, you just don’t have the right to work for an employer who doesn’t want you because you don’t respect science or those that are more educated than you are.

Explain to me, Dr. Science, why a healthy man would be asked to leave his job when 70%+ of his coworkers are vaccinated. Where is the danger? The healthy man is tested weekly, and he is wearing a mask. Are the vaccinated? The argument that this is science-based is nonsensical.
The employers are not firing people because the employees “do not respect the science” they’re firing people because the employers are cowards. They are weak and unprincipled. But you are right about something, they have every right to be weak and unprincipled; but they don’t have the right to force their employees to be the same.
Credit where credit is due: some oil companies are doing their best not to capitulate to, what many consider, the unconstitutional dictate from the Emergency Order imposing mandates on anyone working with federal employees or on federal land. This doesn’t stop many of those WITHIN these companies from trying to coerce employees and contractors into getting the vaccine though. I pray to God the employees that don’t want this, or caved but are sorry for it, will stand together against it until this is decided in the courts. For the life of me I cannot understand why our Senators and Congressman are not fighting this with their every breath. Alaska’s economy is dependent on oil, whether you like it or not, and with 90% of our state being owned by governments it is increasingly becoming a hostile place to live for privately-employed citizens.
I wish my husband’s company was one not coercing the mandate. He’s been on the Slope 26 years and now must choose between the jab or the job. Sure, they say you can ask for an exemption (and we firmly have a religious one) but the path there is the same one cows take to their slaughter. It’s a series of narrow fences and turns all meant to get to the same end, the kill shot.

I suspect a good number of those 95% did not get that jab willingly. When faced with losing one’s livelihood or getting the shot, the choice is limited. It’s coercion, especially if one is Covid recovered. Very odd that natural immunity is not being considered.

I hate to sound all “reasonable” here, but…
If you don’t want to get vaccinated, look at all of your options – weigh them constructively so you can make your own informed decision based upon your needs.
And then, be open to the idea of reevaluating based upon new research or changes in your life.
That doesn’t make you a sheep, that makes you own your decision far more than those who are standing on political ground. Because this, like any other vaccine, is a health decision, not a political view, and should be treated as such.
If you qualify for an exemption, file for it. You are legally entitled to file. There might be stipulations – weekly testing, no business travel, etc, but it’s worth it to be able to make the personal decision.
Bottom line – getting in line to judge those who chose to vaccinate makes people “sheep” too. Let people make their decisions, while you make yours.

“Voice of Reason”: Though you may sound wise and reasonable to yourself, and in the end you advocate for personal choice, your critique of those who speak against getting the shot is flawed. You are not comparing apples to apples. It is one thing to live in a society where people can attempt to reason with one another, and even criticize each other for their decisions. Through criticism, or making “judgments” in discourse, we are able to solidify or even change our minds about previously held views. I don’t care if anyone criticizes me, and I have no problem offering criticism to others. Some of us have medical AND moral reasons to reject the jab. Of course we are going to speak against it…but we aren’t trying to force people NOT to get the dangerous, abortion tainted shot. That is something else entirely. Freedom and criticism are not opposites as you seem to imply.
I would so welcome a list of companies, both in Alaska and in America, that are NOT woke. Where might one go to find such a list?

Dear Governor Dunleavy,
First, I am not ‘anti-fax’ and am vaccinated for Covid, via Pfizer. I am though against the mandating of this vaccine.
1. Even though it was approved by the FDA, it was done so under emergency order. The side effects and efficacy are still being studied. I myself had a myriad of effects after my second dose, leading to an in person phone interview with a Pfizer research nurse representative, and my doctor filing with VAERS. We as recipients are part of the research. This is great but should be a choice at this point.
2. Only a small segment of our working population have to work closely with vulnerable people. Why the heck would railroad workers, electricians, or pilots have to be vaccinated? There are other things they can do to protect others effectively.
3. If the mandate is to lessen employees out sick, well the efficacy is proving that not super effective as the vaccinated are still getting sick, resulting in the same quarantine, the same viral transmission and the same effect on those around them as well as family and friends who are also supposed to quarantine if exposed.
4. Those not getting vaccinated can provide protection to others by regular testing, strict hygiene protocol such as hand washing, masking and distancing. This worked well before the vaccine.
5. The politicization of all of this is disgusting, it is indeed a gross violation of human rights, especially given the issues with efficacy and on going research.
In summary, the mRNA technology is amazing and hopefully will prove to be the future of immunization. Until we know more though, no one should be forced to be part of the research.
Please, set the narrative here and protect Alaskans from losing their careers and livelihood. This affects all of us very negatively, whether vaccinated or not.
