On the heels of three separate and well attended freedom convoys across the state, Alaskans are holding the next rolling rally to unite against Covid mandates and government overreach.

The upcoming “Alaska Freedom Convoy” is set for Feb. 27 when vehicles will gather at the Carlson Center in Fairbanks at 3:30 p.m.

“Let’s unite together to show Alaska that the majority does not support any mandates or oppression, and that we will ALWAYS stand for freedom and against government overreach,” a notice for the event states. “Let’s show our children that we will not go quietly, and that freedom is ALWAYS worth fighting for.”

Organizers are hoping the event serves as encouragement that freedom-loving Alaskans are not alone, but must be engaged to bring about change.

“Let’s be a jaw dropping presence and shake up interior Alaska by making people think twice about infringing on others’ freedoms,” the notice adds. “Please, join us in making this statement and leaving an unforgettable and lasting imprint. For the children, for the vulnerable, for the future, for the world.”

In my opinion the truckers need to surround the capital and park their rigs and walk away. After about a week our democratic friends might get the message.

If some left leaning group did what you suggest, you’d have a baby on the sidewalk. Hypocrisy is a Republican value.

It is a protected right to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Especially considering we instituted government for the sole purpose of securing our inalienable, God-given rights to life, liberty, and property. When government becomes destructive to these ends, it is our right and duty to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for our future security. I welcome any God-fearing, liberty-loving group who shares these same values. I wouldn’t oppose Communist groups because they parked vehicles and walked away (though Leftist protesters loot, assault, burn, and destroy instead), I would oppose them because they our the enemy within America, who hate God, and hate what America was founded upon – God-given, individual rights to life, liberty, and private property.

This reply is to Nicole’s comment. Did you really mean the “rights to life, liberty and property “? I looked. That’s not in the Declaration of Independence. Are you a realtor?

And this whole god thing doesn’t fly, primarily and importantly because he doesn’t and cannot logically exist.

        Total fail.

  • Proud Alaskan says:

    Neil your so right.
The truckers just need to stop trucking goods and food to all. Then these leftist would see the stupidity, with these mandates

  • Rdtwoo says:

    Should have store boycott also

  • Jean says:

I think all trucks should park anywhere they want and walk away with their keys in their pockets. When the left can’t get their precious toilet paper they’ll cave.
