As expected, President Joe Biden has nominated a hard-leftist judge to replace outgoing U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, who is widely considered one of the most liberal justices on the high court. How the Senate confirmation process unfolds is certain to become a campaign issue for U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski and her foremost challenger Kelly Tshibaka.

Biden nominated D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson – a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard University, and cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School. She has a long history of supporting many of the most radical social issues, including the LGBTQ political agenda, abortion rights and others.

Obama appointed her for Vice Chair of the U.S. Sentencing Commission in 2009 and the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia in 2012. Biden then appointed her to her current Circuit Court post last year, a move that Murkowski supported.

Murkowski’s Feb. 25 statement praised the hard-left Breyer, thanking him for “his decades of service to the nation and steadfast commitment to the Supreme Court’s mission — to ensure equal justice under the law.”

She then said she takes her responsibility “very seriously” when it comes to vetting and considering whether to approve Jackson as Breyer’s replacement.

“I look forward to the opportunity to meet with Judge Jackson to learn more about her qualifications as a jurist, her judicial temperament and philosophy, and discuss issues important to Alaskans,” Murkowski stated on Feb. 25.

While Murkowski previously broke with her Republican colleagues and voted to approve Jackson to serve as a Circuit Judge last year, she said this “does not signal how I will vote for a Supreme Court justice.”

“I am committed to doing my due diligence before making a final decision on this nominee,” Murkowski said. “Being confirmed to the Supreme Court — the nation’s highest tribunal, and a lifetime appointment — is an incredibly high bar to achieve.”

Tshibaka was less evasive in her response to Jackson’s nomination.

“True to form, Joe Biden is nominating a clear leftist to the most important court in the country, who would undoubtedly follow her ideology in her rulings and write legislation from the bench,” Tshibaka stated. “As a senator, I will always oppose nominees who prioritize their own opinions over the law, and will always support constitutionalist judges who follow the Constitution.”

With regard to Biden’s pledge to nominate a black female to the court in order to bring greater diversity, Tshibaka said the president’s words are hypocritical “since as a senator he did everything in his power to block Justice Clarence Thomas from the Supreme Court, using his committee to conduct a ‘high-tech lynching,’ in Thomas’s words. He also tried to block the nomination of Janice Rogers Brown, a black woman, from a seat on the D.C. Court of Appeals. Clearly, diversity doesn’t count for Biden if a black nominee is not a liberal.”

Tshibaka also blasted Murkowski for voting to approve Jackson as a Circuit Judge just last year.

“Murkowski was one of just three Republicans to vote to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to her current position, and she has already spoken approvingly of Biden’s plan to consider only black women for the Court,” Tshibaka said. “When I’m the next senator from Alaska, the people will never have to wonder what my views are. I will always side with the Constitution and oppose radical leftists.”

She says she supports the constitution but she kneels before Trump, who violently attacked the constitution.

    • Leigh says:

He attacked communist. Not the constitution.

      • Terry Tiree says:

No he didn’t. He tried to invalidate the election which is a fundamental component of our democracy. There’s nothing communist about his despicable plan.

      • Terry Tiree says:

What? Who is “communist’? Elections are the core of democracy

    • Timothy Colbath says:

You are 100% wrong. Trump followed the Constitution as written. It is the liberals that are attacking: the 1st amendment by censoring speech they don’t like or agree with. Attacking the 2nd amendment by changing the meaning of words such as “Shall” “Keep” and Bear” and going to attempt to ban magazine capacity and trying to ban guns based upon appearance. Liberals have destroyed our fossil fuel industry – to become slaves to OPEC.
Trump did none of those things.
Trump also did not commit treason by spying on a sitting POTUS and trying to remove him from office through lies and fraud.

      • Terry Tiree says:

You strayed off topic. Trump absolutely attacked our democracy by planning and executing the January 6 scheme. Trump is a traitor to America.

  • Gunter Thompson says:

Tshibaka should know that the Supreme Court does not write legislation.

    • Leigh says:

You obviously dont know what “legislating from the bench” means do you.

      • Timothy Colbath says:

        Obviously not.

      • Gunter Thompson says:

The expression “legislating from the bench” is frequently used but rarely explained. The expression “legislate from the bench” isn’t actual legal terminology.

It is political language — ‘politicalspeak.’

The hard right is so confused about what far left is on the political spectrum. When you are so far to the fringe that moderates become so-called Leftists, perhaps it is time for you to look in the mirror and see what being radical is.

  • Natural Alaskan says:

Lisa thinks the SCOTUS’s duty is to ensure equality. That is one example of why she failed the bar exam so many times. At least Tshibaka acknowledges their duty is to the Constitution. Of course Lisa always lies and says she hasn’t decided yet, while planning to screw Alaska every time. When has she ever done differently?

Biden’s Nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson Is So Radical Her Major Decisions are Frequently Overturned —

  • Karen Crandall says:

Every decision that Biden makes is to enslave and defile the very essence of life. What is made in the image of God. God has given us a conscience. And the USA Constitution was written carefully to protect us from tyranny and death and to protect moral integrity of our families. When the righteous flourish, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan.

NAV: I looked at the link and suggestion you made. They are far right misinformation sites. You need to find more reliable sources of information. These are Tucker Carlson level sources of information.

  • NAV says:

This is the most overturned judge in the country Tiree and your leftist comments show who hasn’t the knowledge to vette anything looking at your statements about Trump confirms it, my guess your a liberal progressive all in for Biden and the new world order who’d rather be sitting on his backside complaining continuously instead of actually contributing to better society.
