It’s time to bring local government HOME to the people in our communities of Eagle River, Chugiak, Birchwood, Peters Creek, Eklutna, Hiland Road, Thunderbird Falls and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson! We’re on a mission to form a separate, independent Borough and we need your support!

By limiting government to local constituencies, we’ll be able to empower “homegrown” representation of the people through collaboration between citizens and their elected officials. We believe in SELF GOVERNANCE of our communities of interest, where local voices make local CHOICES. With local involvement and control of land-use, we can create an effective and RESPONSIVE small borough government.

Protecting our community tax base is a top priority! By having a smaller taxing district with local community involvement in tax decisions, we’ll ensure a locally controlled public safety sector, road maintenance, parks, public services, and governance.

Our communities want to maintain and operate a smaller school district with more local control, delivering services more efficiently and being more responsive to constituent needs. That’s why we’re committed to local administration over our own community affairs, with a government that provides exceptional city services, quality education, and equal political representation.

We understand that property taxes are a concern for many of you, and we want to assure you that under our proposed local government model, they will not increase. In fact, we believe they will decrease.

Thanks to our friends and neighbors, we’ve funded an independent feasibility study that shows we have the tax base and finances to provide municipal services after detachment. And now, during the latest phase of the detachment and incorporation of our new Chugach Regional Borough, we’re working hard with our legal counsel to review, revise, and reframe the scope of Eaglexit’s petition for submission to the Local Boundary Commission. We’ve also completed substantive drafting of Eaglexit’s legal brief in support of the petition and revised the Chugach Regional Borough Charter to comply with Alaska law and Eaglexit’s goals.

The legal team is putting in 110% to ensure the Charter follows our intent of bringing local government HOME, to the people, and that it will withstand all legal challenges. Your donation will be used efficiently and effectively to move this process forward, and every dollar donated will make a huge impact!

Join us at our meetings every Tuesday evening as we work towards our goal of independence! Your support is ESSENTIAL, and we are GRATEFUL for your willingness to make a donation. We need your financial support NOW to continue the legal work and contract with consultants, and we’re asking you to join us in this effort.

Did you know our property taxes increased by almost 15% from 2019 to 2022.

We understand that property taxes are a concern for many of you, and we want to assure you that under our proposed local government model, they will not increase. In fact, we believe they will decrease.

We believe in creating a borough that is inclusive and compassionate, one that values the needs and concerns of all members of our community. Our goal is to provide efficient and effective services while also being mindful of the financial burden on our residents.

We strive to create a borough that is welcoming to all and takes into consideration the diverse needs and perspectives of our community members. We believe in working together to create a better future for all.

Our model is designed to give you the best possible outcome and we’re confident you’ll be thrilled with the results. So, don’t wait – join us in our mission to bring local government home to the people and let’s make this happen!

Thank you for your generosity and support. We couldn’t do it without you! Learn more at www.Eaglexit.com.
