Let’s not forget those eight Alaska Senate Republicans who abandoned their three most conservative colleagues – Senators Shelley Hughes, Mike Shower and Rob Myers – to form the Democratic controlled bi-partisan majority that is now pushing an extremely radical and entirely mandatory sex education bill for all public schools. This comes in spite of placating assurances by Senate Majority Leader Gary Stevens that the “bipartisan” coalition would avoid “controversial” issues, and focus on essential state services.
Not so much.
Unless your idea of “essential services” is graphic, LGBTQ-infused sexual education across all grade levels. This should come as no surprise. Republicans who are willing to freeze out conservative colleagues, shelve the party platform and empower hard leftists are nothing more than useful Democratic pawns.
Alaskans may have only elected nine Democrats to the 20-member Senate, but these leftists call the important shots thanks to RINOs who actually like playing second fiddle. Lets not forget their names:
— Gary Stevens (Kodiak)
— Cathy Giessel (Anchorage)
— Bert Stedman (Sitka)
— Click Bishop (Fairbanks)
— Jesse Bjorkman (Nikiski)
— James Kaufman (Anchorage)
— Kelly Merrick (Eagle River)
— David Wilson (Wasilla)
