First, I want to wish everyone an imminent and happy resurrection day tomorrow! This is an update regarding our editor-in-chief’s wife, Joy, whom many of you know and have prayed for since the announcement of her stage 4 cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

The first report is that her surgery went as well as could be hoped for, and the initial cancer was surgically removed. What remains is soon to be treated with a specialized, and very custom round of chemotherapy over three weeks in the lower 48 at a special treatment center.

In honor of Joy, and her courageous battle against cancer, a large contingent of friends and Alaska Watchman supporters are holding a dinner and both silent and live auction fundraiser to help with additional financial support. If you are available on the night of April 16th and are so inclined, there will be festivities, dinner and merry-making for several hours that Sunday evening.

If you are unable to attend, but would like a take-out Italian meal for you and/or your whole family that evening, that option is open to you as well.
