In January, Gov. Mike Dunleavy wrapped up his annual address to Alaska lawmakers by claiming that he wanted to make Alaska the “most pro-life state in America.”
So far, his only accomplishment has been to successfully press lawmakers to expand Alaska’s Medicaid program to cover postpartum mothers for 12 months rather than three.
While the governor sees this as “pro-life,” because it gives expectant low-income moms a wider safety net, expanding Alaska Medicaid is also deeply problematic for anyone who cares about the unborn. The State Supreme Court has said the governor must use this same program to pay abortionists to kill pre-born children, and last year 44% of all Alaska abortions were underwritten through Alaska Medicaid – 546 state-funded slayings.
If Dunleavy takes this step, it would reverberate through the nation, and all pro-life Alaskans must bury past grievances and rush to his aid.
Today, we publish an open letter to the governor from long-time pro-life advocate Therese Syren. It is a heartfelt plea for Dunleavy to defend the most vulnerable among us.
Until he uses his constitutional authority to challenge the court’s unconstitutional opinion that Alaska must pay for the execution of pre-born babies, Dunleavy’s pro-life statements will mean absolutely nothing – especially for the hundreds little ones who will be destroyed on the state’s dime this year.
Let the courts and the media and the hard-leftists scream and writhe in anger. The fact remains that Dunleavy has the power to direct his Commissioner of Health to cease all payments for abortions.
The Alaska Constitution begins by stating we are “dedicated to the principles that all persons have a natural right to life…” It does not say all “born persons,” or all persons past a certain age, but “all persons.”

Were Dunleavy to challenge the Alaska Supreme Court’s unconstitutional opinion, it would be up to the Legislature – and self-proclaimed “pro-life” lawmakers – to determine whether his actions were constitutional or impeachable.
If Dunleavy takes this step, it would reverberate through the nation, and all pro-life Alaskans must bury past grievances and rush to his aid.
The hour is late, especially for the 10 or more babies who will die this week with public blood money.

Dunleavy He’s weak and afraid.
Governor Dunleavy may be compromised politically as he has a native wife who may be in the camp
of Paleoto, a native, and therefore Murkowski. I wrote to Senator Murkowski when it was a major issue in Washington
and she eventually wrote back justifying her stance from a very disconnected place–in the pocket of Biden/Mitch McConnell/etc.
with the money and assurance of an election win padding the walls of that pocket.
Does that mean he could not stand on conscience and conviction? NO!!!! He still can do that and he still can remain in office as God’s
legions come to defend him. We would need to rally around him in prayer, however.
I believe he has it in him. But our experience with him during Covid is that he is slow and steady (probably moving prayerfully
for those who understand what that means) and he will ultimately do the right thing as he did during Covid. He’s a good man. It is hard for me to believe that he would strike a deal and agree to do a lesser thing and not do a greater thing for money or for gaining some advantage over some other issue.
The Carbon Credit stories are buried, but I just saw this today and wanted to share it. I still ask if Dunleavy has a valid oath of office?

Where has the support been when gov. Dunleavy has needed it? He is a leader whose army refuses to fight for their “principles.” Instead, like the ancient Isrealites who told Moses: You and your God go fight. When the idolaters leave, we will enter. The Israelites wandered without entering the Holy Land for a generation. What will the families and conservatives do? Standby and continue to desert the battlefield or join the battle with the governor and fight for the children?
Shelia, since you seem to be on good terms with Dunleavy, can you do us a favor and get a copy of his Official Oath of Office for this current term and share it? I would like to know if his paperwork is completed properly. Atty Todd Callender and a teacher researched the White House members and found that quite a few do not have valid oaths of office. If Dunleavy’s Oath of Office is valid and completed properly, then I am sure that he would be happy to share it with the public.

Dunleavey doesn’t have the authority to overrule the Supreme Court even if he wanted to.
If Joel is a journalist with any integrity he should be honest about that. The Supreme Court has ruled abortion to be a medical right for a woman to choose time and time again.
Legislators have repeatedly tried to do other ill-conceived ideas to force women to stop getting the medical care they need. They tried to redefine the definition of medical necessity. They tried to restrict funding to vulnerable groups of poor women. They even tried to force pregnant women to undergo unfair exams and limitations that men and non-pregnant women didn’t have to go through.
The Courts at every turn have called them out for their unconstitutional attempts to invade a woman’s privacy and curtail her rights. Every single one of the restrictions was struck down.
I won’t speak to the Crooked Supreme Court’s power. I will speak to the accusations against Mr. Davidson. Lefty haters gonna hate every time…all the time. They accuse everyone else of what they are actually doing and saying. This is all going to work out in the end. The demons are destroying the bodies of God Almighty’s children, but you can bet that will not go on forever. God’s Word tells us what will be happening. Looking forward to God Almighty’s kingdom re-establishing itself!
