For the past four years, the Juneau Pregnancy Resource Center has offered pro-life options for pregnant women in crisis. In 2019, the center opened up just down the street a local Planned Parenthood abortion clinic.
With abortion activists extremely active in Alaska’s capitol city, the establishment of a pro-life outreach has opened new alternatives for Juneau women facing unexpected pregnancies.
The pro-life center offers free lab-quality pregnancy tests, along with a variety of parenting resources that cover prenatal care, parenting techniques, healthy relationships, and much-needed life skills. It also provides classes and groups on topics like pregnancy loss, abortion healing, fertility awareness, and family planning.
On Sept. 22, the center is holding its second annual fundraiser at Juneau Christian Center (8001 Glacier Hwy), from 6-8 p.m. The evening includes a silent auction with myriad items from local businesses, a live dessert auction, information tables, appetizers, coffee, Italian sodas and live music performed by the Alaska String Band. All proceeds go directly to the pro-life center to support the mission of serving Juneau families.
