A radical, pro-kink, LGBTQ activist student is teaming up with a University of Alaska – Anchorage professor to conduct a “confidential” sex survey on Alaska teens, ages 14 to 17.

As part of her psychology doctorate program at UAA, Sofia Sytniak is carrying out a research survey titled, “What does ‘sexual health’ mean to you?”

On her Twitter (X) account Sytniak describes herself as being “kink posi[tive],” into sexual and gender minority health and sex socialization and sex.

She’s working under the supervision of Dr. Sara Buckingham, a psychology professor who’s published articles reflect a keen interest in promoting abortion rights, critical race theory and LGBTQ political and social aims.

According to a flyer for Sytniak’s research project, participation in the survey is “voluntary and confidential.”

“We are looking for teenagers in Alaska to participate in a research study looking at what sexual health means for them,” the flyer states, adding that it is “open to all genders, sexual identities, and experiences.”

In order to incentivize participation, Sytniak is offering all teens a “$20 gift card for each interview completed over Zoom (individual interview and optional group interview).”

To participate, youth must be 14-17 years old and have lived in Alaska for at least three years.

This is a great idea. The survey being confidential means the data will be much more accurate. The participants can answer freely without worrying about their abusive conservative parents finding out about their real lives.

By the way….its nasty the way you are doxxing a college student. You should be ashamed.

      Clark,
Hang around this blog awhile and you’ll find columns even more ridiculous than this one. I’m here for the laughs.

    • Proud Conservative Parent. says:

How is it doxxing? We don’t have any information on her other than her public twitter profile. As to your conservatives parent shtick, like any good parent, my house my rules. If I don’t condone perverted sexual behavior and tell my kids its not allowed, then that’s my prerogative as a parent. Its also my responsibility to keep them safe from any of this trash being rammed down their throats.

  • Willy Keppel says:

Hmmm.. yet most Alaska highschool campuses forbid military recruiting officers, without parental permission to talk to their kid.
I have an idea, lets only fund as much money as the land Grant University System turns over to the State. Dollar for Dollar.

  • Friend of Humanity says:

Are these sex surveyors getting permission from the parents for the kids to participate in a sex survey? We have so hit the Sodom and Gomorrah level in our state. This is sickening.

  • Harper says:

Clark, how confidential is it really when these kids have to provide some kind of information to obtain the $20 gift card? Of course you attribute conservative parents as being abusive. Typical. The conservative parents I know are raising happy, healthy & mentally healthy kids in loving homes. I’m conservative, my teenager is very liberal (with healthy morals) but does not agree with the inappropriate garbage being subjected to youths by adults who are supposed to be teachers, librarians or role models. There are acceptable and unacceptable ways to obtain information from children. I very much appreciate this type of reporting and feel it is very helpful to know who is trying to obtain sexual health information/surveys from 14 year olds while offering unnecessary gift cards in return.

      “What’s in it for me?”

Overcome your natural inhibitions against discussing matters involving sexual activities with a complete stranger and we’ll reward you with $$.

Methinks Buckingham is killing two birds with one stone here: Sytniak appears to be getting a lesson in the power dynamics at play in the process of successful grooming (as Buckingham’s student), while Sytniak simultaneously gets the chance to exercise power dynamics over any teenagers she’s able to reach and attract with a $20 carrot at the end of her stick.

    • Clark says:

What are you even talking about? You don’t need any personal information to buy a $20 gift card at the grocery store. Presumption is its going to be a pre-paid visa or comparable card. You don’t need anything but the number on the card to activate it. Are you guys not paying attention? It’s a voluntary response survey. Meaning nobody who is uncomfortable has to participate. Rewarding survey participants is a standard practice that occurs in thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of surveys a year. There is nothing controversial about that -at all- critical thinking people! If your teenagers want to participate, its none of your business. If you aren’t actively supervising them, people have the right to talk to them if they approach a table, or call a number and start asking questions. You don’t actually have a right to violate your child’s freedom of speech outside of your own home. It’s Doxing because you posted a students picture, their name, their school, and their teachers name and school. Thats enough information to find and harass them, and its clearly the intention/hope of the poster that something like that happens. A real journalist that wasnt being -phobic- would have left out identifying information.

    Where are the BOR? Hello…

  • Lucinda says:

FOSOH. You certainly are poisoned by fear. Must be a kind of hell.

    • Friend of Humanity says:

Lucinda, my Heavenly Creator told me to not be fearful.

      • Lucinda says:

        But …

      • Friend of Humanity says:

But..Nothing Lucy. Lucinda, our Heavenly Father really wants you to learn about him, learn about his love for you and what he expects from you. Repent for your sins, ask for forgiveness and ask for him to guide you. Have a chance for everlasting life full of unconditional love that only the Creator of All Creation can give you.

I find it appalling that once again parents must defend their parenting. And, once again people are claiming parents have no rights. These women are disgusting and disturbing. Why that age group? I hope they do get upset and uncomfortable with people who disagree with them and try and stop them. It’s not right. It’s a matter of them being minors that makes this so offensive to me. They are targeting them on purpose.

    • Lucinda says:

Anna. Teenagers spend a lot of time thinking about sex, finding ways to be attractive to others, getting prepared for sex, having sex. Young teenagers too. To me, it’s best to educate them with lessons drawn on data which this survey will create. Being anonymous, teenagers are free to reveal stuff that they would NEVER reveal to a parent.

The survey will produce good data and let teenagers talk about sex. Those are good things and should be supported.

      • Friend of Humanity says:

Children should be taught to not dwell on things that they should not be doing. Dwelling on things opens up a door to doing things they should not be doing. Your push for children to be immoral is going to catch up with you in the end.

      • Clark says:

Amen Lucinda! The Lord must praise you for speaking the truth!

What FoH seems to ignore is the fact that 25% of 14 year olds are already having penetrative sex and that over 50% of 16 year olds are having sex. He wants to put his head in the sand and just let them get pregnant and spread HIV and other STDs. All while pretending his daughters who’ve probably already had an abortion or two are really ‘good girls’.

Also FoH….you obsess about the actions of LGBT people on this forum. Are you outing yourself? Since you contemplate gay actions all the time…

      • Friend of Humanity says:

Clark, “you obsess about the actions of LGBT people on this forum.” Do I? Not that I am aware of. Funny how you are pinning actions on me that I am not doing. Why Clark? As for telling Lucinda, “The Lord must praise you for speaking the truth!” Do you guys regularly command your Lord Satan to do things?

  • Lucinda says:

FOSOH. the LDS church once advised young men to tie one hand to the bed frame and clutch the Book of Mormon in the other.
