Anchorage voters have until 8 p.m. tonight to cast their ballots in the run-off election that will decide whether the city has a proven conservative or an entrenched political leftist serving as mayor.

In last month’s regular election, incumbent Mayor Dave Bronson earned 25,432 votes while his liberal challenger Suzanne LaFrance had 25,904. Since neither candidate garnered 45% of the vote, a run-off election is necessary.

For Bronson to win the race, and ensure that the hard-left Assembly continues to have a check on its power, he will likely need 40,000 to 45,000 votes in his favor. During the 2021 run-off election Bronson narrowly defeated Forrest Dunbar, 45,937 to 44,744.

Bronson’s victorious 2021 campaign was largely fueled by strong turnout in the far more conservative Eagle River area. Voter participation in this community will be key for him this year as well.

As of May 13, more than 51,000 ballots had been received by the city’s election center, which means there are 188,000 ballots still unreturned.

Voters may cast their voted ballot in one of three ways: (1) to a Secure Drop Box, (2) to an Anchorage Vote Center; or (3) by mail, through the US Postal Service (USPS) with first class postage. If voters return their ballot though the mail today, Tuesday, May 14, they should ask a postal worker to “hand cancel” or place a postmark on the envelope to make sure their vote will count.

Those who want to vote in-person can visit one of the three Anchorage Vote Centers if they have lost, damaged, didn’t receive a mailed ballot, or simply prefer to vote in person. Voters must have proper identification to vote in person, by 8 p.m., at any of the following Anchorage Vote Center.

City Hall – 632 West 6th Avenue, Room #105

Eagle River Town Center – 12001 Business Boulevard, Community Room #170

Loussac Library – 3600 Denali Street, First Floor

Voters who want to drop their ballots off via one of 18 drop boxes around town can do so any time until 8 p.m. today. Voters standing in line at a drop box on Election Day will be allowed to drop off their ballots, even if it is past 8 p.m.

To find a drop box voters can call the election hotline at (907) 243-8683 or search the online map of Secure Ballot Drop Box and Anchorage Vote Center Locations.

Anchorage it’s in your court. Get out and vote Bronson for mayor.
If not you have no say, so stop talking, did you vote.
Scenario 1: Bronson wins to keep up the fight against the hard left assembly. To keep Anchorage a somewhat normal city.
Scenario 2: Suzanna wins scary. Did you say you have Rights, not with Suzanna and the assembly.
Shut up, you can speak when you’re told. Wear your mask, get the shot, homeless living in every neighborhood yes your neighborhood, and they have more Rights than you, a police state/city etc.
I can hear the flushing now and it stinks Anchorage/Portland 2.0

Does anyone know when the run-off results are supposed to be posted? I hope that it is not two weeks from now – if that was the case, you know that Lafrance is going to win by a tiny bit.
